A child winning an Oscar or academy award is pretty cool.
IMO However,
With all the amazing talent In the theater,
when a child manages to win the TONY for best actor or actress in a musical, it's absolutely amazing!
Especially since most musicals where the lead actor is a child they will be on the stage 95% of the show and will probably have 2 or 3 solos and at least be a part of most of them.
In Matilda the actress has
2, 500 words
2 Solo songs
3 songs with solo parts
And is a part of 7 others.
Even with 3 or 4 actresses playing the part they still have
3 shows a week.

I feel like child actors are generally given less recognition when it comes to their acting performances because they are too young to grasp the context and meaning behind their role/character. However, I would argue that most child actors are far better than some of their on screen adult associates as they are able to grasp the emotion of the scene and express it so naturally and raw. Its a shame that they are often snubbed in these kind of awards but there are many other roles played by children that I believe deserve more recognition.

The unfortunate thing is, these people all hit home runs their first time at bat, and not 1 of them have been able to surpass or match that accomplishment (on the main lost anyway. Yes it's wonderful accomplishments buy nowhere to go but down for all of them.

Jude Hill should've gotten an Oscar nomination for his role in Belfast. Everything about his performance felt so real and genuine; it was honestly one of the best child actor performances I've probably ever seen. Even his onscreen grandmother Judi Dench was blown away by his talent; she said he was as good as other actors with decades of experience. If he had been nominated, that would've made him the second youngest Best Actor nominee of all time at the age of 11, right behind Jackie Cooper.

There are so natural while acting its really a pity they didnt won for thay role. From the nomines in this video child from the Paper Moon literally made all that film possible. You definitely need to watch it if you didn't. Such a nice movie will never come again, in that time i can see planty of great child actors

I still cant believe Macaulay Culkin didnt at least get nominated for best actor for his role as Kevin in Home Alone or even the sequel Home Alone 2.
