You need mad skill to compete in the hardest game shows. For this list, well be looking at game shows that present the most difficult mental and physical challenges for contestants to overcome. Our countdown includes Survivor, The Amazing Race, Wipeout, and more! Which game show do YOU think is the hardest?

From the outside looking in Survivor seems to take a much greater toll on competitors, so I would say that makes it harder than Jeopardy or American Ninja Warrior. Although certain skills are necessary to be able to even compete on them, the toll it takes isn't as great once competing. Many season of Survivor have had contestants medically evacuated, with a few nearly dying. And those that make it to the end game often lose over 20 lbs. because of the lack of food.

The old Jeopardy! was way harder. A lot more money now and no runnerup prizes, but a lot more fluff and plays on words in clues. Toughest part is the final Jeopardy. Sure, you won't get too many Ken Jennings but there are enough categories to build on. Buzzing in and strategy I agree with but I probably don't think I could ever get on any of those shows BUT Jeopardy! The Art Fleming version, forget it. Way too hard!

Technically 3 have achieved Total Victory on ANW. Its just 2 were on the same season and per Americans rule only one can declared winner. In the original anyone who beats all 4 stages is declared winner. A sad is the only competitor to have perfect season on ANW is first person ever beat stage but he wasnt fastest. Its dumb that the show wont at least call him an American Ninja Warrior

Top 3 (In my opinion):
1. Survivor
2. Ninja Warrior
3. Jeopardy
Judging from this, their all so difficult, Jeopardy for brains and Ninja Warrior for brawns, but I see Survivor the toughest because it combines both, plus the location that you have to stay at makes it more tougher and that's why I think not only it's the toughest gameshow, but also the best gameshow of all time!

complicated for sure for all definitely you need mentality endurance determination ambition complete focus and concentration in yet some of the wipeouts on the falling off so need speed agility for any physical competition also in survivor you also got to avoid heat stroke or any bodily harm cause you could really hurt yourself that way

Personally, I think Survivor, Amazing Race, and Big Brother are very hard reality game shows. While they have different premises and settings, the players need to have strong social, physical, and mental games along with alliances in order to win the prize.

It would be a dream for me to be on Survivor. I've been a fan since the beginning and I've always wanted to play and enjoy the adventure. It's going to be the hardest thing ever but I have the strong determination to go all the way and win.

I think Survivor is easily the hardest. Fighting the elements, starvation, challenges, constantly living in paranoia and knowing you can't trust anyone. I just think the overall length and strain and demands put it over the edge of everything else.

Im glad that Holey Moley got into the top 10. Its extremely funny. However, I surprised that not everyone know that the Total Drama franchise was made as a animated homage towards reality competitions such as the Survivor franchise.

In the Netherlands we also have expedition Robinson. I would love to join that 1 day because i can be verry resourcefull on an island with some people wile being verry tactical by elimenating my cometition.

One competition that I think should be up here is Ultimate Beastmaster. Having to compete with the best of the best from all around the world in obstacles that are VERY rarely beaten is extremely tough.
reply

The single best game show ever created in the US, for me atleast, has to be Amazing Race. Then coming in close is Survivor. Have been diligently watching both shows ever since they began.
reply

Honorable mention: Big Brother. I can't imagine being sequestered in a house with strangers, cut off from the outside world for such a long period of time. That would drive me insane.

Glad to see Only Connect on here. It's not just about knowing trivia, like Jeopardy! or The Chase, but knowing how trivia links to other trivia in an obscure way.
reply

The Chase probably gives away the least amount of money than any other game show since the brainiac has two chances to take it all away from you and usually does.
reply

Im surprised Weakest Link wasnt on the list. That show had some tough questions and you also had to try not to get eliminated or you leave with nothing
reply

Getting accepted into any of these game shows is just like trying to get into Harvard, Yale, or any of the United States military academies!
reply

Fear Factor didnt even make the list!
If there was ever a show that I thought someone could really accidentally die, it was this show!

reply

I dont see how Jeopardy is more difficult than Survivor. Survivor is way more difficult strategically, physically, and emotionally
reply

I miss the old hosts of wipeout, John and John
Ive definitely wanted to join the chase or jeopardy and honestly wipeout looks fun

reply

The fact that the first one was Steph Curry's idea is mind boggling itself. _Have you seen that guy hit half-court shots? _
reply

I would never make it on any of these shows. I love Jeopardy but I would never make it on there, let alone win.
reply

Takeshi's castle should be first I only saw them win once, highlight of my childhood and if not seen you should
reply

Double Dare is for kids. But its also a hard game show to complete. Questions and physical challenges.
