Maxs big scene in Dear Billy shouldve been #1. Her character arc was all abt isolating herself from everyone & everything after the trauma shes been through & the survivors guilt shes developed from Billys death. Vecna posed as Maxs demons luring her deeper into a depressive state. Max knew she was his next victim & pretty much prepared herself by writing all those letters & going to Billys grave to pay her respects. Max was accepting death almost as if living didnt matter at that point. Vecna is a twisted, nihilistic & felt like the whole world was against him, so like his other victims, was convincing Max to give up as well & join him. But once Max heard Running Up That Hill playing & reflected on her memories w/ her friends, she realized what she was letting go of & got a surge of will & motivation to escape Vecna & her so-called inevitable death. Once she made it back to reality, Max kept softly exclaiming, Im still here, symbolizing her decision to keep fighting. This whole scene is a HUGE allegory for fighting depression & suicidal ideations. Never in my life have I seen a serious topic like this be depicted so subtly yet brilliantly. Lets be real, Elevens fight with the demogorgan is only #1 bc apparently everything from season 1 is so iconic it deserves to stay relevant in any way possible. Maxs scene is all the more deserving & I stand by that.
Edit: A bunch of people have been stating this & I strongly agree, that Running Up That Hill is Maxs favorite song bc it reminds her of Billy. The song is abt someone wanting to make a deal with God & swap places w/ someone. Max is guilty over Billys death & wishes she couldve taken his place dying instead. Although she never got along w/ him, Max had always cared for Billy deep down. The song could also foreshadow Max getting back together w/ Lucas, as the montage of memories Max had primarily consisted of him.

And the bit where 11 was in Hoppers cabin and destroys the shit out of the mindflayer spider monster.
And the bit where 11 gets that bit of spider monster in her leg.
And the bit where Nancy dives in straight after Steve gets dragged down through water gate.
And the bit where Joyce is just going ALASKA after she hears Hop is alive.
And the bit where Eleven gets her powers back for the one time in season four episode 5 and she kills the guards.
And the bit where Eleven kills all the Hawkins lab people with her powers when she squeezes the shit out of them.
And the bit where she stopped Mike from jumping off the cliff then breaking Troy's arm

The Sauna Test wasn't to distract the mind Flayer, It was used to heat Billy up so they could purge The Mind Flayer from his body, like Joyce did with Will in season 2. That's why they were watching the temperature gauge. The flayer likes it cold, so it leaves it's host if it becomes too hot.

Honestly, I think my favorite moment of badassery from the Stranger Things women is when Nancy shoots Vecna during the final battle in the season finale. Such a powerful moment. Such a powerful character. I love Nancy, she's my favorite.
