If I had to be paired with someone, it would have to be Derek. Mark being a close second they are both very brilliant choreographers, they pay attention to every detail right down to the costumes and the music choice and theyre just good. Theres a reason that Derek has won the mirrorball six or seven times. And I think Mark has four of them to his credit. I did like your countdown, but I think number six shouldve been a little higher up on the scale. She danced that beautiful dance on the day of the Boston marathon bombing. They dedicated that dance to the victims of that act of violence. That dance was beautiful to begin with and then that added tribute. I watched it sobbing openly because it was that beautiful.

Sadie & Mark's will always be a high favorite for me in large part because Nintendo music is my favorite genre and it rarely if ever gets the respect it deserves. I legit imagine how certain game songs could work in the various dance styles seen on the show ( a regular one I imagine is a Snake Eater paso. And I'm disappointed Jojo & Jenna didn't get an honorable mention, their freestyle was awesome
and man. if I were famous enough to get on the show I'd be hoping for Witney as my partner. She's been my favorite pro since she first started doing the show outside of the troupe.

Where are Melissa and Tony from the all-star season? They were the first to do a slow, emotional freestyle which I remember being blown away by at the time. Before that all freestyles were crazy, adrenaline fueled, everything but the kitchen sink affairs. I believe the following season was when Derek and Kellie did their slow, emotional dance which I also loved - hmmm - wonder where they got the idea for that? Tony and Melissa were the first AND they won the all-star season! Deserves an honorable mention at least.

I agree with most of these as the best freestyles ever. I would add James & Sharna in the list (& take out a specific one that i find so unmemorable that I forgot it even existed lol, but hey - to each her own huh)
I would also move Kellie & Derek to #1 bc that performance had me tear up & actually scream/squeal out loud (when she did the lean which other DWTS pros have said in interviews they also screamed out loud watching that part & knew they had done something special enough to win)

Daniella and Iman absolutely demolished their freestyle. The amount of rapport they gained after was so well deserved.
I loved seeing them dance week by week.
I feel like after that dance they had a positive domino effect and their chances of winning improved significantly.
It was nice to see someone with little to no dance experience transform into a fierce dancer.

The Super Mario one is my favorite. The deaf one gets too much credit for being deaf. They play that too much, if anything it's an advantage as everybody knows that deaf people can feel the music through the wood floor and they're not hindered by the distraction of hearing, they just feel it vibrate through their body. That's a known thing.

I understand that this top 10 list was released a month earlier from today, but you know I just wish that they make an updated version of this countdown because Charli and Mark's winning freestyle routine was surely breathtaking and should be included in the list if not no. 1 freestyle routine. That routine was definitely one for the books.

Uh did no one know that Alfonso is actually a trained dancer? That's where he started in show business. He was in at least one Michael Jackson video. It was a running joke on the Fresh Prince set that he did the Carlton dance which was so cheesy and basic, but he was really a great dancer.

This was fun. So glad to see Amber Riley on here. She's doesn't get enough credit for her killing choreography and winning the mirror ball. She's still the only Black Woman to hold the title. And plus size. And Mark is the best at making dances fun and energetic for his partners!

Two freestyles I love simply because they were a joy to watch (even though they might not be the best technical dances) is David Ross & Lindsey Arnold and then Drew Scott and Emma Slater. They worked beautiful with their personalities and just so fun!
