These are 2000s shows we all watched after school. For this list, well be looking at our favorite after-school gems we would race home to catch. Our countdown includes One Tree Hill, Veronica Mars, Everybody Hates Chris, and more! What 2000s show did YOU watch after school?

I will always have a place in my heart for the oc. Cant count how many times Ive watched. Its funny when it was airing I was devastated about marissa and the 4th season was hard to watch. Probably why it ended up getting cancelled. Ive since realized the 4th season WAS an entirely different show but it wasnt really a bad thing. It became a lighter show. It was soooo much funnier.
Also, love Veronica mars- easily top five favorite all time shows but when it was actually airing it was the best show NOBODY was watching. I think Dawsons creek was much more of a cultural phenomenon and deserved a spot on the list.

The 2000s had such great shows. This list also missed Malcolm in the middle (this show was the definition of the 2000s, What i like about you, Charmed, Smallville, 7th Heaven, 8 simple rules, the underrated cartoon gem that was 6teen.
But One tree hill defined my teen years. I love that show to pieces. Still do. Lizzie McGuire had me still trying to hold on to my childhood. And I never missed an episode of That 70s show, Buffy the vampire slayer and Sabrina the teenage witch (but my brain has always associated Sabrina as more of a 90s show.

I wanted to watch Hannah Montana when I was younger so badly, but I wasn't allowed to cause my mom didn't want me to something that dealt with fake identity or 1 person playing 2 different people and that it was okay to be like that just for fame/popularity. Which I understand now, but I still hear the songs every now and then, and I feel sad because I missed out on my piece of childhood. Also everybody calls me Hannah Montana and don't know anything from the show.

I can't believe SMG starred in Cruel Intentions and Scooby-Doo during Buffy's series run. But if MJF could do filming for both Family Ties and the BTTF movies at the same time, then I have to applaud their dedication.
Also, I'm guessing cartoons and animated series are getting a list of their own, since those were what I was more into after coming home from school.

let's be real what us kids really watched in 2000s was hannah montana, wizards of waverly place, zack and cody, that's so raven, camp rock hsm cartoon network etc. Then when we were older all the teen shows came in like gilmore girls, oc, one tree hill, the vampire diaries and gossip girl.

I remember when Buffy debuted and I was hooked from the very first episode. I wanted to be Sarah! I remember when Dawson's Creek debuted and the insane way we all fangirled over it like it was a pure masterpiece! PS I STILL have nothing but love for both of these shows

I still love The OC from Seth-a-mer to playing pirates that apparently chop people heads off to the introduction of the greatest holiday ever, Chrismukkah. Oh and Pankcakes. Can't forget Pancakes, unlike a certain mom.

I mostly watched Disney and Nickelodeon since I was in elementary and middle school in the early 2000s. I did love Sabrina the teenage witch tho. Ive seen some episodes of everybody hates Chris

This list would make sense if most of these shows weren't in prime time. Unless i miss my guess, after school would be between 3-5. No ever barely ever made it in the door to catch Buffy.
reply

Smallville, Birds of Prey, Tarzan, Zack and Cody, Drake and Josh, According to Jim, The King of Queens, 8 Simple Rules, Yes Dear, What I Like About You, and also Everyone Loves Ryamen!
reply

I dont know why i never liked that 70s show, i tried watching it again and stopped season 2, what about third rock from the sun? Or ghost whizperer? Are those 90s? Woops
reply

This list can't exist without Smallville and Charmed. It was a huge part of my teenage time.
But I'm very impressed you've mentioned Everwood. I love this show.

Buffy The vampire Slayer is my favorite show of all time and I'm glad to see it on this list, but why isn't Gilmore Girls on it? not even in the honorable mentions.
reply

I would watch Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Angel, Dark Angel, Gilmore Girls, Charmed, Smallville, One Tree Hill, Veronica Mars, and Sabrina The Teenage Witch.

There are only three that kids rushed home from school to watch. Hannah Montana, Degrassi, & Lizzy McGuire. All of the other shows aired at 8PM or later!
reply

These were prime time shows not after school shows. Saved by the bell, sweet valley high, California dreams and breaker high were after school shows.
reply

Everwood was the best! It deserves more love! I mean most of these shows on here I didnt watch! I mean how come Gossip Girl isnt on there!
reply

Ok, who remembers that before Sarah Michelle Gellar was Buffy. she was Sydney Rutledge on Swanns Crossing, in the 90s! I loved that show!
