To everyone who keeps saying that Christina Ricci is the OG Wednesday Adams, she's not! The insanely beautiful and incredibly talented Actress Lisa Loring (born Lisa Ann DeCinces; February 16, 1958) is! She is best known for having played Wednesday Addams at 6 years old on the 19641966 sitcom The Addams Family. Lisa is the OG Wednesday! There wouldn't be any Addams Family 90's Movies or brand new Netflix TV show if it wasn't for the OG TV show! Which is one of my top all time favorite TV Shows. Lisa should be in the spotlight to now not just Christina Ricci!

The best part of the Addams Family Values was Joan Cusack and Christina Ricci. Wednesday was a feminist. She was throwing shade left to right. Love the Thanksgiving scene when she was stating facts about colonialism and privilege before causing chaos was spot on. When I first saw it as a kid, I missed it but now as an adult, I spotted it including how the camp directors casted the marginalized kids as Native Americans which speaks volumes.

Another moment is when the Trio of Addams in the Camp was tortured. (Yeah I'm counting Joel as an Addams because Wednesday basically proposed to him by the end of the film)
Joel: He's just a child!
Pugsley: absolutely terrified
Wednesday: Don't worry we're going to get out of here.
Joel: But it's Disney.
Then that led to Wednesday's iconic smile to the campers and counselors.

I totally disagree that they are anti-traditional family. They are a tight knit family. Morticia and Gomez are relationship goals. The Addams family was probably the most traditional family of the TV shows. The Munsters had a terrible relationship. The Brady Bunch were divorced and remarried. I think The Addams Family was the most stable family on TV/in movies.

Tbh, that monologue from Wednesday during that Thanksgiving pageant couldn't have been more relevant until I look back and advent of colonialism. I was only seven when I watched the Addams Family sequel, sure. I enjoyed every second of that movie. Not only does the movie gives you laughs, but the commentary is pretty strong as well as, at some points, subtle.

I noticed as an adult how boring and samey it is and how predictable it is as to who is the ultimate enemy in the show. I also noticed a few times where Wednesday's accent completely changed that should have been re-edited or redone. Not the best pick for Wednesday at all as she just wasn't all that consistent or even seemed to care about the role.

Wednesday's hilariously blunt response about where babies come from makes sense when you realise that as the eldest, she's used to parents who can't seem to keep their hands off each other. Plus, Morticia and Gomez probably told Wednesday the truth about the birds and the bees when Pugsley was born, albeit with more tact.

The thing is in the 90s the political commentary was subtle and wasnt SHOVED ad nauseam down our throats 24/7. I dont even watch new movies anymore because Im flat out tired of being lectured to and told what a bad person I am for not believing in The Message.

They didn't want to change Pugsley's name to Pubert. That is the name that Charles Addams had picked for him in the first place. They had him pick again stating the censors might now allow Pubert and Pugsley was his second choice.

I definitely agree with the number 1 spot. It shows the brutal honesty that the caucasians are actually the invaders/immigrants to the native americans, and some of them claim that america was their land to begin with.

Considering Im somewhat still a new fan of the Addams family after getting into the franchise in 2019 thanks to animated film having a Star Wars actor in the main cast, I actually noticed ALL of the adults references

Morticia flatlines me with that line in the animated movie when Wednesday brings home the red balloon isn't there usually a murderous clown attached to the other end of one of these things

Not in the same vein as things only adults will notice but I love how Morticia's face is in shadow with a band of light across her eyes in almost every shot, no matter the general lighting

You can also notice how the director wanted Angelica Houston similar to a film noir actress with the lighting just on her eyes and the rest of her face in shadow when he did close ups.

Most romantic lines ever spoken: To live without you, only that would be torture. To die alone, only that would be death. Hands down the most romantic couple of the 20th Century.

I love the 90s version of The Addams Family Movies and its shocking how people are not aware of it when its one of the funniest and quite frankly, relatable things out there.

I didn't see the 2019 version, but I did see both the 1991 and 1993 films when I was about 5 years old(which meant the movies were on air for some time) and I got every joke.

When you made comment on the fact that all the pilgrims were played by white children, its true, all the pilgrims were white. Im so sad you feel the need to be so woke.

Wednesday's great Aunt Calpurnia. It's said that she danced naked in the town square and enslaved a minister. But don't worry we've told Wednesday, college first.

There are parallels. William/Kate are Gomez/Morticia and desperate Uncle Fester is Harry who marries a woman who demeans him and cuts him off from his family lol
