Im _definitely_ keeping an open mind toward this. Its just _sad )_ that when I look in comments of the teasers for this flick, all I see is _INSANITY. _
Its like, yes; I KNOW that there are folks out there who feel that Disneys live-action remakes of their animated classics are _sub-par_ (to put it one way) in comparison to their original animated counterparts. But STILL, flooding the comments of the teasers with _NONSENSICAL RIDICULOUSNESS_ is completely uncalled for IMHO.

Despite the dislikes on this video, this is the only comments section i've seen so far about the little mermaid remake that isn't filled with meme comments. I have no desire to see this movie, but it's good to see that at least SOME people are excited for it. I hope you guys enjoy it somehow, because lord knows the general public won't. XD

I watched The Little Mermaid for the first time 13 years ago, making Alfredo, so I'm gonna do a double feature with Alfredo. I know others will bash the movie just for having a black Ariel, but I'm excited to see Hailey's portrayal. As well as the sister's expanded backstories and Javier and Mellisa's portals of Triton and Ursula.

Ariel's sisters will appear in the live The Little Mermaid 2023 movie Unlike the original movie, Ariel's sisters will have their names end with 'A' rather than having it be the first initial of their names. Their names are Mala, Indira, Caspia, Karina, Perla, and Tameka. that's what the internet said

Ok Im not mad but you know they hand painted every single bubble in the original. Why cant they do so damn bubbles around the actress that is playing a Mermaid but cant swim irl? Is it that hard? I hope they fix that or its gonna be distracting. Please dont be lazy Dysney. This is one of my favourites.

This is one live action remake Im not so sure about - Im all for multicolor casting and against whitewashing, but when the protagonist is a (very) fair-skinned redhead, casting someone whos not like that doesnt seem the best choice. especially if you wanna honor the original classic.

I encourage anyone that has not seen the movie Splice to check out the picture of the creature in it and tell me she wouldnt be a better fit for a remake of that movie. I am not joking! Probably a movie she definitely could relate to watching.

They need to leave other country's cultures alone. This isn't an American story. It belongs to Denmark and they should respect the artistic integrity of the original work. Not believe they know better than the author.

I was jaw-dropped when Ariel and Eric were at the Crack of Doom, and at the very last moment, deciding not to destroy the One Ring, Ariel claims it for herself, sinisterly says the Ring is mine and puts it on!

The live action looks really dark and gloomy. I know realistically thats what it looks like under the sea but the cartoon had more bright colours. Pinocchio was too bright and The Little Mermaid is too dark.

I know one thing about the movie, it's gonna suck. The original from 1989 is way better. Now I'm not racist or anything, but why does Ariel have to be black? why couldn't she be white like in the original?
reply

A bit of history of the little mermaid The Little Mermaid was created by Danish writer Hans Christian Andersen in 1837, about 150 years before Ariel was singing Under the Sea with Sebastian and Flounder.

We need Taylor Swift as Martin Luther King JR. In the newcoming MLK JR. Movie! We need to keep white/blackwashing each other's cultures! (It's a joke and so are the people that like this movie)

The thing I hate most about this remakes is that unlike maleficent they make boring jokes, most of the movie and characters are bland and boring and it takes all the fun out of it

With how amazing the animated little mermaid is this has a to live up to and I just dont know how good itll be especially with the race swapping of several characters
reply

When a movie is handled by the right team, the right director, and features the right cast, it will be phenomenal! I'm as excited to see the new songs and the old songs!
reply

Aside from the race bating, the nightmare inducing CGI, and the redundant plot, the only thing that could sink this movie is Rob Marshall behind the helm.

Im pretty exited to see the remake of the movie! Itd be interesting if there would be some backstories to some of the characters, but overall, Im stoked!
reply

I want to see more of prince eric and ariels relationship they r good but i want somthing like rapunzel and eugene they r awsome so i hope they fix this
reply

Majority of black people are also seeing this as racist and even disappointing, like why make a film based on woke shit? Disney is full of idiots
reply

The new little mermaid looks cheap asf. It has to be going on Disney plus it looks worse then the Pinocchio they released on Disney plus and it bombed.
reply

Meh, im not interested in Ariel story, alredy get that in the original animated Disney Little Mermaid, they should do the Story of Ursula and Triton.
reply

I'll still seek it as a perfection film like the original version of the 1990s
Specially cause J. Bardem & Aquafina are my favorites superstars

reply

Yall gotta stop hating you old mfs can go watch national treasure or some other old lame shit this for the kids an mermaid lovers get a damn job
reply

Great, Lin-Miranda first it was Encanto and now it is The Little Mermaid, nothing is off-limits for this guy! This has gone waaay to faar!
reply

Hope Disney has Princess and the Frog scheduled next for the never ending live action remakes! Taylor Swift would make a great Tiana!
reply

I feel so bad that theyre getting hate for the casting when theyve been working on it for 6 YEARS! Cut them some slack like omg
reply

Of course that made Ariel black. everything has to be woke pc. there was nothing wrong with the original. it didn't need to be remade
reply

1. It should've been titled the Random Mermaid. Or Background Mermaid #7. Or Dollar Store Mermaid and Assorted Sea Life.
reply

im ok with this movie not being about love and happily ever after story. but i want it to be inspiring if nothing else
