Team Coco for the win! For this list, well be looking at the funniest examples of the host directing comebacks and/or witty retorts at his talk show guests. Our countdown includes guests Timothy Olyphant, Bill Burr, Gordon Ramsay and more! Did we forget a standout clapback from the comedian?

I can think of two more. One was his infamous interview with Kari Wuhrer and the other was an interview with a woman (I don't recall her name) and she was complaining about the $300 pizza she ordered at a restaurant. She sent it back and was complaining about it. She also told everyone in the audience that they should pick up and take a trip to Africa. Conan commented sincerely that he would never get a $300 pizza as he prefers eating at regular places like Taco Bell and pointed out that very few people in the audience can afford to take a month off and suddenly pay to go to Africa. Fun Fact: Conan and Timothy Olyphant have actually been very close friends for years and go on vacations together. This is why Tim is always so comfortable and over the top with Conan and why Conan loves to razz on him. Love it.

What's great about the segment with him and Garner is how well he handles her incredible rudeness. Rather than just take immediate offense, he makes a self-effacing joke about going to Harvard Driving School. This is what makes him so great at what he does. He'll always choose making fun of himself over anything else. Great that he still took the time and trouble to prove himself right, later. Garner's visible discomfort is great to see as he holds up the dictionary in triumph. The Lesson: If you're going to viciously insult someone's poor use of grammar on the TV Show they host - make sure you're right!

At first, I thought conan was a little bit jerky, but after some videos and sketches with and from him, I think he is a great person, comedian and boss.
I love that his coworkers feel so safe around him and are up to jokes and laughs.
Great dude

Chopped the Norm joke to bits and left out important parts of the setup, horrible edit; now I wonder if that's why a few of these fell so flat, with a voice over explaining the joke that got chewed up by the bad edit. Chairman of the Board.

I loved the clapback to Nicole Scherzinger wearing a very low cut dress, and said Conan-focus and he says oh, I'm SORRY! Did you think I wasn't going to look there? and proceeds to pretend to motorboat her
reply

My favorite moment for Conan was when he had a guest terrified of dolls and he had a chucky doll lowered from the rafters during the interview right in front of her face. She ran screaming off the stage.

How the hell is Jennifer Garner going to try to argue that snuck isn't a word to a writer of 30-plus years? She must have been hitting the doobage a little too hard that night.

100% Guarantee you that Nick Kroll would have never made it in anything on TV or in movies if he didnt have a super rich Father. I think John Mulaney is pretty funny though.

Everybody, and I mean EVERYBODY knew that the Jennifer Garner incident was going to be number one. She couldnt have looked like a bigger dummy if shed tried.

Was really clicking on this to WATCH the clips, not listen to some monotone idiot explaining funny like nobody knows what it means. THAT won't happen again.

That Norm MacDonald & Courtney Thorne Smith bit is one of the funniest things I ever saw. Everybody should go watch the whole thing. Norm was a genius. RIP.

Conan sure is a charismatic and talented individual. He's lauded as one of the most influential television personalities all around the world.
reply

Almost the just last one (which indeed is a good one) is really a clap back.
Where is the moment where he owned Nicole Scherzinger?

reply

Timothy Olyphant is one of Conan's best friends. Whenever he's on the show, they are just harassing each other for complete fun.
reply

You missed the one with Russell Brand where Brand was being loud and anoying and Conan called him crazy

watchmojo without the blue color is like living in an alternative reality with fake or different McDonalds tbh.
reply

Why do white people mis-use black slang so much? Clap back certainly doesn't mean what mojo thinks it does
reply

That Norm McDonald guy seems like he's going places. Wonder whatever happened to that old lump of coal?
reply

His maniacal laughter after getting Jennifer Garner on snuck is what solidified my love of Conan OBrien.
reply

My friends and I were watching that 'Chairman of the Bored comment and we're still laughing to this day.
reply

I don't like this narrator as much as the others. Her voice is really a burden to listen to at times.
