My husband and I were married at the Wedding Pavilion next to The Grand Floridian in 2008. We had our reception at The Grand Floridian and we did receive the Just Married pin, we received a year long park pass and we received his/hers Disney watches. As time has gone by, Im sure they changed the gifts you receive from having a wedding there. They may also give different gifts based on the amount of money you spent. We spent a lot. We also stayed as guests in The Grand Floridian.
I used to work at the Magic Kingdom when I was 17, and still love Disney into my 40s. Of course they are not very good to their employees and make you very aware they could replace you in a day with thousands of other people. Its a damn shame they cant be good to their employees as they are the ones who make everything happen.
Very nice video. I knew a lot of this information as you take a week long class when you are hired at Disney, but there are some things I was not aware of.

Powder blush was applied directly to the film strips for Snow White
Adrianna Costello (whatever her name was, the voice of Snow White, was contracted to Disney. She could not give interviews, etc, because her voice was property of Disney. Something like that.
Several animated scenes from films like Sleeping Beauty and Beauty and the Beast have been recycled for other, similar scenes/angles (Robin Hood, Cinderella, Snow White)
Walt Disney's wife is responsible for changing Mickey's name from Mortimer; she thought it sounded too pompous
Disney turned down making Back to the Future, deeming it too dark or too juevenile

To go further on Number 52. the two finger point is also from Walt himself. He was a smoker and pointing with a lit cigarette was common. but due to the desire to never have kids smoke, the cigarettes were removed, but left Walt pointing with two fingers. This may be a scandal today. but in the early 20th century it was what it was. Look at all the smoking references in the early cartoons for proof.

Ariel and Merida may be the only two official Disney princesses with siblings from their original films, but it's worth noting that Cinderella and Rapunzel each gained a sister in sequel stories. They may not be blood, but they definitely count. Raps and Cass are also the first Disney princess sibling set in which not a single member has red hair.

As a girl who grew up watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse the fact that the Hotdog song that ends each episode is a reference to Mickeys first words explains why of all things they chose to make the song about hotdogs and for that to be Mickeys catchphrase. Please tell me Im not the only one who thought that hotdogs were Mickeys favorite food.

54 Actually. they were behind schedule on Lion King so they had to begin Pocahontas (Julia Roberts was considered for the role but they said she was too difficult to work with. I was in the studio when the 2 were being made ( my cousin was an animator. The halls were covered in drawings of the movie.

Before Frozen, you could find a lot of articles and stuff about Walt Disney Freezing himself for 100 years until they found a cure for rare cancer, and then he would be brought back to life once they restarted his heart. but now the ONLY Frozen that gets mentioned is the films.

I am not surprised that Walt Disney is blasting scents and smells all over the park. The idea is to keep people hungry enough so they are never full, so they keep on generating money. A lot of places do it, it is quite a cycle here. Keep on doing that, the money never stops.

My parents and I just went to the Disney Expo at the Franklin Institute today. It was great but at the gift shop I couldnt think of a single thing there I wanted to get. My mom already beat me at getting our usual trip souvenir magnet for our fridge.

Useless is a matter or perception. In the wrong moment ANY fact is useless.
And what's up with the numbers! Apparently someone added one more fact at the last minute - but someone (else? maybe the same someone) forgot to update the title.

Most cartoon characters have four fingers (technically three plus a thumb) because of the reason that five fingers takes longer to animate than four. This is also the reason why Hank have seven tentacles instead of eight.

I find it incredibly amusing that Pete is best known as a cat when he originally started out as a Bear. (And even more, that he predates not just Mickey but even Mickey's PREDISISOR)

In Japan, Disney and all cartoon characters who had 4 fingers had to add another, because 4 fingers were a symbol and stereotypically describes Yakuza, which was a taboo subject there.

I did know most of these. Another fact is that the 1964 World's Fair benefited Disney. This is because it allowed Disney to explore the use of new technology for the parks.
