Queen Charlotte did charity work with nursing mothers at hospitals. She boycotted sugar, used orange slices instead to sweeten her tea and introduced England to the German tradition of the Christmas tree. She also mentions Ramsey who painted a real portrait of Queen Charlotte having Moorish, Portuguese and African features which historians reference to this day. When the Revolutionary War developed, political cartoons pictured her as a woman of African descent with full lips and tan skin. Why was she featured that way in ridicule if there were not some rumors of African ancestry? She also worked hard to abolish the slave trade. A lot to think about.

If you've ever gone on a guided tour in Windsor, you'll understand the People's Princess reference better. Princess Charlotte was immensely popular with the British people and even though they didn't use the term back then, the People's Princess was used during the tour to convey that her levels of popularity were on par with Diana's. I don't know if they still say that in the tour, but they did back in 2010. To be more specific, this happens during the St. George's Chapel part of the tour where Princess Charlotte is buried with her son.

amazed at the precise German pronunciation
although to be precise, the Duchy of Mecklenburg-Strelitz was part of the Holy Roman Empire; though the usage has become quite outmoded (Voltaire: Not holy, not Roman, not an empire) prior to the Napoleonic Wars, Germany in reference to most of the states comprising modern Germany wasn't even widely used
also, thumbs down for the video creator being lazy for not getting the RL references as opposed to the comments

I have so many thoughts about all that. I would really hate it if they got Violet a love interest. There is a book with short stories set after each main Story has ended, and there it's explicitly stated that Violet never got any other men after the death of her husband, because she was fullfilled with her children and all. So basically they allow Lady Danbury that kind of strength but not Violet, where it's even canon that she never remarried?

How much research do you guys actually do for these episodes, because Princess Charolette was in fact referred to as The Peoples' Princess and the great hope. We actually still have preserved news papers calling her those things.
What #1 should have been, was Queen Charolette's reaction to her only granddaughter's death being so cold. She was so heart broken that it probably contributed to her death.

Charlotte of Wales wasn't the Princess Royal. The Princess Royal was Charlotte and George III's oldest daughter, Princess Charlotte and the Queen of Wurttemberg. Charlotte of Wales, who died at the time indicated in the show, was the daughter of the Prince Regent (later George IV. This was a glaring error that really should have been caught.
reply

8: 19 (#3) the show actually touches on this twice. Brimsley mentioned the princesses not leaving Queen because then Queen Charlotte would be alone as George was not available. Additionally, one of Charlottes daughters mentioned having miscarriages. so the show did talk about why they werent producing heirs.
reply

It was King George who didnt want his daughters to wed. His sister married their cousin, the King of Denmark, who also had a mental illness and she suffered in the marriage. She committed adultery and was banished from Denmark and wasnt allowed to see her children. They made a movie about it.

I love queen Charlotte, but you just made one mistake. That she loves the orange orchard in Buckingham house. Not a Kew and a wedding dress that she wore to climb over the wall was the English wedding dress. In the one she wore when she got married, was the one that she had made in France.
reply

I think the wedding gown Charlotte wore while trying to go over the garden wall was the simple English-style gown her mother-in-law to be chose for her. She then changed into the more elaborate French gown she brought with her from Germany to get married.
reply

Some research states that George did not want his daughters to marry because of the horrendous matches he saw his sisters endure, though other research does align with this video, stating it was more of Charlottes preference.

IMO this was thr worst Bridgerton series. It makes no sense for Charlotte to be so cold and angry in older years based on how happy we see her in youngers years. Too kuch of a stretch to come off believable to me.
reply

Did you notice the puzzle she was working on? It is a picture puzzle of America! Along with the islands and South America. all places that shipped sugar from sugarcane which she actively boycotted.
reply

Wow, that's super interesting about the older daughters of Queen Charlotte thing. Wanting to protect them -- I would have loved that to be in the actual series because to me, it's more interesting.
reply

I definitely noticed Charlotte of Wales being called the People's Princess but thought it was just a common title. I love how they integrated that and the actual historical references.
reply

Great video if you like being explained key show moments instead of enjoying the actual show. This should be called Top 10 things you couldnt have missed because nothing here was enlightening.
reply

Because Queen Charlotte was boycotting sugar, she wouldn't have had a gingerbread house with icing for Christmas or a gingerbread house since it didn't become popular until the mid 1800s.
reply

I absolutely loved watching Queen Charlotte. That was such a good series but i'm so sad that it's sure it would have been nice to have seen more of her interacting with king george.
reply

Princess Charlotte was the glory and hope of Europe at the time. She really was the Peoples Princess at the time. So, I dont think its trying to modernize her or her death.
reply

If you need proof about her not putting sugar in her tea, check out the scene with her and Lady Danbury. There are small plates with sliced lemons and oranges on them only!
reply

To me Queen Charlotte was a HUGE disappointment. When is Bridgerton 3 coming out? In 2025? The seasons take a ridiculously long time to do. sick of waiting.
reply

4: 37 well considering that child actor is the same child who played Auggie in S2, i'd say its beyond a doubt that that child is Daphne and Simon's son
reply

Pretty sure no one missed any of these as they were all quite blatant! What a ridiculous waste of a video! None of these are Easter eggs!
reply

It should have been pointed out that Violet Bridgerton could not have been 12 years old in 1761/1762 since she wasn't born until 1766.
reply

Im pretty sure it was King George who wanted their daughters to never marry. His sisters had terrible marriages.
reply

What about the music? I heard Whitney Houston, Beyonce, and more. Loved that current music was used.
reply

Why is she black? Why can't blacks make shows about their own important historical figures. Oh wait
reply

So prince friedrich is the son of Queen Charlotte brother? So how is he never married and had a son?
