If memory serves correctly the version of My Heart Goes On that we all know and love was her doing the demo for the song and she nailed it so well they just made it the official recording of the song. Its a great song and a difficult one to sing.
The number one hardest song to sing is definitely deserving. Emotions is in a super high register and uses the whistle register which is almost impossible to hit.

I would've given The Show Must Go On more than an honorable mention, because that, along with pretty much every Queen song ever written, is pretty impossible to nail unless you've got the range Freddie Mercury has. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one in this comments section who has either tried to or seen someone else attempt Queen at karaoke night and not done so well

It does amuse me however that for many of the songs on this list you didn't even give us sound bites of some of the trickiest/most impressive parts. The Show Must Go On deserved better than honorable mention. I'm glad you showcased Earth Song though because that is a highly underrated song. Fans of it considerate his magnum opus. Still overall and good list

The only song i'd add is Shakespeare's Sister Stay. That song is so haunting and emotional and the way both singers delivered their parts just pulls such emotion from me. I used to lay on the floor and hit those high notes. Such an incredible song!
reply

The Vocal Trinity on top as it should be. Although, I'd argue All by Myself is tougher than My Heart will Go on. Likewise, I Have Nothing is more difficult than I Will Always Love you, imo. Excellent list, though.

Whitney's Star spangled banner rendition should be in the top 3 most difficult songs of all time
However
Whitney's IWALY and Celine's MHWGO are the greatest songs of all time by a female in music history

reply

Another honourable mention: I Want You by Savage Garden with the high tempo in each verse. Fans of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure will recognise this song as the one that played during the credits of part 4.

I let the video playing and I went feed my cant, and before it was announced I spoke Number one: Emotions, and just when I fineshed speaking the Voice over said it. HAHAHAHA and damn, I was right hahahahaha
reply

they maybe belters but true iconic of 90's music nysnc aguilera backstreet boys savage garden brit spears spice girls any range of any song of this era might be a fun thing but hard at the same time
reply

#8 and #4 Were originally songs that were considerd/given to CELINE DION! To think she would have dominated this list if she did record them, some say she did and its in the bowls of sonys vault
reply

I Dont Want To Miss A Thing is so beautiful and somewhat heartbreaking song. I just think of my late grandparents and my mother (who is alive) and. Aerosmith are a great rock band
reply

No matter how hard anyone tries, no one will ever be able to mat Whitney Houston's beautiful and incredible redition of I Will Always Love You. We will always love her too.
reply

Welcome to MsMojo, and today we're counting down 10 ways we can get I Will Always Love You by Whitney Houston into another top 10 list because we haven't had enough of it.
reply

I'd argue Celine's ALL BY MYSELF is much more difficult than My Heart Will Go On. Regardless, Celine wasn't afraid to tackle tough tunes. Go Vocal Trinity!
reply

All by Myself has so many high notes, that I'd be out of breath by the chorus. I've definitely had more than a few Bridget Jones singalongs, in my time.
reply

Now this is the list we've been waiting for! My childhood. I'm nostalgic now. I love all these songs but I lipsync to it coz I can't sing along to it
reply

The Show Must Go On deserves more than an honourable mention, Freddie was so sick when that song was recorded he did it straight thru in one take
reply

Love mariah but they only give her number 1 because of the whistle note. I think I will always love you should have been #1.
reply

Blue - LeAnn Rimes
Who Will Save Your Soul - Jewel
Tori Amos, Indigo Girls, so many that are so hard to replicate

reply

I like/love all the songs on this list except for 2, Earth song and how can I ease the pain cuz I've never heard of them
reply

Adam Lambert is probably the only other signer to NAIL Show Must Go On and thats why hes singing with Queen these days.
reply

With very few exceptions, this video shows just how the 1990s were the worst decade in history for music. Yuck.
reply

Mariah hits number 1 once again. Also fun fact: I dont want to miss a thing was originally meant for Celine.
reply

There are loads of songs harder to sing than these. Try singing Insect Hoofs on Lassie by Cardiacs (1995)
