As much as I like this show, The story is full of plot holes and discrepancies. Sometimes it's hysterical and I laughed a lot during lots of scenes/episodes, but the overall writing was sloppy and they forget about a lot of details.
I love all the characters (except Bernadette) and the evolution they go thru, but the tendencies to overlooked consistency really bothers me.
Ultimately, I was really pissed off for the way the character of Penny was treated: she wanted to be an actress, but she had to change career; she didn't want kids, but she had to be a mum, of course, the only way a woman is fullfilled is when she become a mum, right? And what about her last name?
So, as much as they were great at writing dialogs and scenes, there are many issues with the writing of the whole story arc.

The way George is portrayed in Big Bang vs Young Sheldon is interesting.
Like a lot of the the things adult Sheldon says about him ring true, but the keyholed view of him make him seem like a far worse man than he really was.
Obviously there's a possibility for a decent bit of retcon, just because Young Sheldon with an alcoholic emotionally distant hick father would kind of ruin the over all wholesome vibe the show is going for.
But in general George really just seems to be an incredibly normal guy, held to unforgivingly/unmanageably high standards by all those around him [a reality a lot of men can probably relate to].
I was actually heart broken when I realized George is due to drop dead from a heart attack when Sheldon is 14, so probably season 7.

Not only talking about the women. But yes, the women. Borderline abuse, alcoholism and just plain abuse is in abundance.
This started as a funny show.
It ended as soon as the toxicity started. And sadly, that was way too soon.
It's a sitcom, we get it.
But constant drinking and gaslighting shouldn't have been implemented.
This wasn't the big bang theory anymore.
It was just a masterclass in how to be a horrible partner. Often on both sides.
Who wants to watch 8-9 horrible people be horrible?
Trash.

I felt that the writers didnt do justice to Pennys character. She was so kind to everybody except Leonard. I think she ended up with Leonard because things were not working out for her professionally. In my head, I wanted her to write a script about a girl moving in with two scientist. In the meanwhile Leonard should have gone with Alex because she was really into him. I think that would have really made Penny appreciate Leonard more and Leonard too would have been more secured in their relationship.

Penny became normal in that sense we all expect to find normalcy from the aftermath of our formative adulthood, the dating, mating, speculating period. She became a regional manager for her company while Leonard became dean of the physics department but after seeing their own children off to college, Penny and Leonard retired, traveled and co-wrote sci-fi mystery novels. and enjoyed their grandchildren. Is Penny happy? NO SHE IS NOT! Leonard and Penny are the WORST couple in the history of television! Leonard was better off with ANY of his other GF's throughout the history of the show. Priya, Stephanie, Leslie, even Joyce Kim were MUCH better fits than Penny. They have NOTHING in common. They both spend so much time MOCKING each others interests that it is obvious that they are NOT a good fit.

If we think of Sheldon as autistic, the story arc is about how he get better at masking his autism that we KNOW IS HARMFUL!
Your ruining the show, by taking up the worst most hurtful and harmful parts of the show. Something autistic people has to fight every day to just breath for one more day. Don't be the white asshole that can't see how racist your other friends is to the black guy.

I think Josh still hung out with Howard, but because of the father, he didn't want to make Howard ask questions or wonder too much about his dad. Plus, Howard is much too busy to be involved after that. On top of that, since Howard's mom died, that might be a touchy topic between Howard and his dad (assuming that his dad is still alive and living with Josh, just having a life.

Being my fourth favorite Chastain in the show, with Wallowitz my guess is the alien pins represent how many individuals in that episode had their dialogue done post recording like ADR or similarly did their scenes away from the core/ primary sound stage. Our is referring to command pins similar to Star Trek The Next generation uniforms.

I never supported Lenard/Penny as a couple past season 4 and was proven right. She belittled his work, gets annoyed at his interests/ nerd tendencies, seen to be settling, and then becomes a drinker. Its not one specific but all that equals to a toxic partner. Sheldons assistant Alex was a better fit.

This is one of the times I really felt for Howard. My dad ignored me most of my life and then, suddenly, started giving me attention. After a few days of being a loving father, he walked out of my life. So Howard's story about how his father abandoned him and left only a note really gets to me.

I can't believe how asleep I was mentally when I realized that there are people with letters from parents that left them but have not yet opened up those letters because they want to but can't open the letters for fear of the letter's truth(s) and that's why Howard still kept his dad's letter.

One of the biggest mistakes in this show was always putting leonard and penny together for so long cuz ngl their characters were tied down with this premise and storyline
And it felt so forced to the point even tho it felt like they shouldnt, the love always felt one sided and undeserved

I really wish they had Leonard's experiment prove Sheldon's and Amy's theory. It would have have been a good balance to Leonard disproving an early theory by Sheldon. They could have shared the Nobel Prize and Sheldon could have finally showed appreciation for Leonard as a scientist.

I always thought the alien pin was a reference to Howards fathers absence. Him being alien. in and episode Howard asks Alf to bring his father back, so the alien thing seems to be Howards way of always having a piece of his father with him

I always thought Sheldon and Penny were a better match (as in opposites attract and are compliments for each other, and I thought Leonard and Amy were a much better couple also. Love is strange sometimes that way.
