My favorite quote, which I use often is when Bella's at the beach with her friends and Jacob shows up with his friends. They talk about how Edward won't be joing them, Bella asks why and was told that the Cullen's don't come to the beach all fierce and wolfy like. Next scene Bella and Jacob are walking down the beach talking and then it happens.
Bella: so what was that about why can't the Cullen's come (or something)
Jacob: oh. you caught that.
No Jacob it wasn't like the information wasn't spoken to her in response to a direct question.

Something like 6 years ago, my coworker and I were talking about how much we enjoy these movies&books. Granted we were both almost 30 at the time. Our boss overheard us and said I dont know how you girls could like something like that, its so awful! We just explained to him look we know its awful, not well written, and even poorly acted at times. But were entertained by it, so why lie? We both love it! I still feel that way, I dont defend it but I seriously love these movies

As someone who has read the books, I have always HATED the hold on tight Spider Monkey line. He never called her that in the book, or previously in the movie. It's not endearing in the slightest and I cringe everytime I watch that scene.
Also, what about Edward's (or any vampire) scent is meant to draw in (humans? Do they emit fine fragrance? Do they all emit the same fragrance or is it like Edward secretes CK1 and Jasper puts off Ralph Lauren?

In defense of the scene, (which I just kinda clued into now that you've mentioned it) where he says Say it. Out loud it actually makes a lot of sense because Edward can read every mind except hers. He'd probably be at the peak of frustration here because for the first time in almost 100yrs he actually needs someone to say it out loud. Don't get me wrong, there's plenty to giggle at in this franchise but I have to back that one up for a sec.

The thing is, I can quite easily imagine a universe where all of these quotes are said in the right tone that makes them serious and not laughable. Just taking the one I'm on -- Say it -- out loud. -- as an example, if that talk had been more confrontational and less whatever-it-was, it could have at least been approaching good. Alas. at least Kristen and Robert escaped and are doing better

Not in the movie, but while watching the post-marital scene with two 13 year old nieces, and it cut to the scene of the destroyed bedding. The girls were so, so uncomfortable and just awkwardly go um look feathers.
Both girls are now in their 20s, and I still regularly make fun of them for it.

I feel like you can say its insanely over the top and we cant take it seriously about literally anything in Twilight: the vampires playing baseball scene, Jacob falling in love with an infant, the cgi baby, the phony war vision that concluded the saga, etc.

Can we please talk about why Rosalie is wearing driving gloves in the kitchen? I know it was probably because she was about to break the glass bowl with her hand, and it was to protect her fingers, but it just made no sense for the character.
reply

If I was handed the script to this film I would of sent it through a paper shredder and mail back the remains with the note not a chance in hell
#2 Eww that CGI baby. Marlon Wayans from the movie Little Man was more convincing

The absolute RAGE when she unexpectedly screams Loch Ness Monster is ridiculously funny. I mean who was even thinking about the Loch Ness monster when he said Nessie? It was just such a random thing to be outraged about.
reply

Some of these were meant to be funny, absurd, or ironic lol. Specifically, He could kill me at any moment, yet I am unconditionally and irrevocably in love with him, This is the skin of a killer, and the Nessie one lol.
reply

How has anyone not laughed at some of these well at least thought they were kind of dumb when twilight became a thing also is it vampires supposed to die in sunlight or at least when the sun comes out?
reply

I'd miss the heat is unintentionally funny af when you've lived there. I remember everyone in the theater laughed when she said this smh they were not being serious from the start lol
reply

9 and 5 are the only ones that are actually funny the rest are not. They're good scenes and I love them but not funny and 1 that one isnt funnny that one is just cringe to hear.

Ugh! Spider monkey! I think if I were Bella, at that point I'd be like Hey I know we have this epic, eternal love, but I'm gonna have to dump your a now.
reply

She is just completely nasty to Bella for no reason she literally has no reason for not liking her well she gave her reason but I thought it was trash

hearts throughout our lives.
Only by setting a good example for others
will we become strong.

I don't know how Kristen Stewart got through the Loch Ness Monster quote without breaking down laughing, it's impossible to take seriously!
reply

I like watching you sleep now lets process that for a moment what it seems like once you become a vampire morals just dont matter anymore
reply

Bella: You're thin, white, and you suck up blood. I know what you are.
Edward: Say it. Out loud! Say it!
Bella: A tampon.
