Don't forget:
Cars (2006) (It's funny, heartwarming, simple, being in Radiator Springs makes you feel laid back and gives you that comforting feel, and it gets creative with the car culture with a memorable cast of characters.
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (For its comforting fairytale simplicity, emotion, and dwarfs are also awesome characters.
The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh (It's relateable thanks to its childhood simplicity that speaks to kids and kids at heart and of course how can you not love the characters.
Pinocchio (Its fairytale simplicity puts you in a good mood, you feel for its lovable cast of characters, and Pinochio himself is relatable and genuine while still a flawed individual.
Sleeping Beauty (For its classic fairytale simplicity with a badass villain and the fairies are as dynamic and awesome as they are badass who move the plot forward.
Peter Pan (It makes its themes of growing up and childhood realistic but relatable and it makes you feel like a kid again.
Who Framed Roger Rabbit? (For its nostalgic old school golden age hollywood setting and atmosphere, various classic cartoon characters coming together under one roof that makes you feel nostalgic with a simple but engaging mystery, characters, and badass action.

The Little Mermaid: Now THAT'S the Disney film, or at least one of the Disney films, that I'd probably consider among the most fun in the Disney Animated Canon. It's not just comforting but is very fun as well. It's the kind of Disney film that doesn't just have the robustness of a lot of the best Disney Animated Canon films, including the story, animation, characters, and the songs, but also a very distinct flavor of uniqueness among the Canon. Maybe it's the Carribean influence on the songs (I, and a lot of other people really like Caribbean-styled music, and the fact that it's the only Disney Renaissance animated film (and the last Disney Animated Canon film) to be done on actual cels (Xerography, painting on the back of the cels, placing them in front of the backgrounds and camera, everything, and it still looks good. It probably gets your spirit so high that you also want to make fun comments at it (when looking at the water scenes, of which there are a lot, of course, I would comment, I wonder how many times did either the effects crew, or its supervisor, Mark Dindal, left their animation desks to take a leak)

Being comforting, these are special movies for me, and also having very relatable characters, the most for me are: Toy Story (it reminds me of my love for my childhood and it has great life lessons and also friendship, The Lion King (of course, beyond Hakuna Matata, there is inmense solace when Mufasa and Simba meet again after his appearance; like to Simba, this movie did teach us that we can pay tribute to those we've lost while forging ahead; also is comforting for me how Simba always had the love of his father and his friends to his side, Inside Out (it taught me that Sadness is also a beautiful emotion to embrace when crying, because that way we also relieve and release our pain, The Princess and the Forg (it comfort me seeing to Tiana striving and working hard for make her dream come true, inspiring me to doing it too, Frozen (yeah, it's touching the bond of sisters between Elsa and Anna, Encanto (I love how this movie is about the family's love and what a home really is, and how through Mirabel we learn to be empathetic) and Tangled (for her joy of Rapunzel to feel the freedom and make her dream come true)

I know I may be in the minority, but I absolutely hated Encanto. The adults act like petulant children, and so many people are abusive. The abuela is self absorbed and often cruel, and her whole redemption arc felt incredibly disingenuous. Oh, you can come back, now that i realize you're the only one who can fix the house. The strong sister is literally on the verge of a breakdown from being under so much pressure to take care of everything around town, but at the end all the townspeople come and help with all kinds of manual labor that apparently they could have been doing for themselves all along. And the poor cousin with super hearing. She knew for years that her uncle was living in the walls, missing his family, making friends with rats and likely lamenting about being misunderstood, but she knew she couldnt say anything to anyone.

Its not my all time favourite Disney/Pixar movie, but Ratatouille is my absolute number one warm hug Disney film. It has so much conflict that I care, but not so much that Im stressed, and I always come away just feeling a lot better, not in the same way my absolute favourites like the Lion King or Toy Stories 2&3 just drain my life force

Rotten list. You chose The Little Mermaind and Cinderella, two films with dull, weak lead characters-victims over masterpieces like Coco, which is one of the best children's movies dealing with death, anger, and grief (coming from someone who worked in hospice for 10 years) or Up, a joyful, gorgeous film about aging and hope? Shame.

Honestly, I was expecting a joke #1 on this list. You know, to trick us into thinking that it is #1 before we really get to our #1 pick?
Of course, the Toy Story franchise deserves to be #1, but I was thinking The Hunchback of Notre Dame would show up as the joke #1 entry before we actually got there!

I know this isn't on your list for a reason but I consider The Hunchback of Notre Dame one of my comfort movies.
Also, one time, my boyfriend was feeling kinda puny, so I put on The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh to cheer him up as he said that was one of his comfort movies.

Inside Out is one of the best Disney animations of all time. I watched it at the insistence of my granddaughter to amuse her. And I loved it! It gave me happy tears, especially in the final act.
Also, Just keep swimming, is something I repeat to myself almost every day.

You're being very generous to both Emperor's new groove & Cinderella
And Little Mermaid is just WRONG: She gives up an important part of herself for a guy she just met. There's nothing comforting about that. Yet Aladdin doesn't even get an honorable mention. ..

Disney has already make the perfect remake to The Little Mermaid, but it had a male protagonist and was set in the jungle instead of the ocean. If you think about it, Tarzan has a lot in common with Ariel, Jane with Eric, and Kerchak with King Triton.

I'm happy beauty and the beast, Cinderella and little mermaid but I would have like to have Aladdin as number one because genie playing all those characters in one movie is the best part and nothing is better to enjoy the song a whole new world.

My favorite comfort Disney movie has to be The Jungle Book 2. Mowgli struggles to find out where he wants to belong. The Human Village or the actual Jungle. I can relate to him in that way. Where should I be? Eventually, we both, figure it out

_The Lion King_ is my favorite Disney movie of all time. Everytime I put it on, my cares just melt away from the gorgeous animation, great soundtrack, and loveable characters. Hakuna Matata indeed.

The scene they decide to show: Anna singing while Elsa is having an emotional breakdown seems touching indeed

My brother has never fully cried over a movie. Toy Story 3 is the one that got him crying like a fountain.
Also, I love that Sebastian Yatra sang Dos Oruguitas

Having seen Tangled on this list, I'm now wondering if it was the last DISNEY animated movie to have a traditional romance theme.
