I think the difference is, austin butler played elvis in a movie centered on elvis. Obviously his is a better performance of Elvis himself. Lisa Marie and Priscilla and even Riley couldnt stop praising him (even when it wasnt needed. But Jacob Elordi is playing an Elvis according to someone elses story so his is more so a version of him through Priscillas eyes. Theyre not gonna be the same or require the same kind of dedication or even the same acting because theyre very different characters in a way. Austin was meant to showcase Elvis himself, Jacob is meant to showcase how Priscilla saw her husband in Priscillas own story, meant to showcase her.

Not gonna lie it honestly surprised me when I went to the comments and saw everyone favoring Austins performance the most. I like Jacobs portrayal the best, and his movie the best by FAR. Dont get me wrong I think both actors are extremely talented and did good, but I just did not care for Austin Butlers film. It felt all over the place, timing was awkwardly paced to me, and some of the Elvis impersonations just felt a little forced. I just felt like Priscilla felt so much more raw and real and better put together. Hard to compare the two when they are depicting two different sides of Elvis but if I had to choose thats what it would be.

Most true elvis fans know that Priscilla book is not 100% accurate she has said so herself that stuff was added for drama. Also this women has switch up her story throughout the years, Ive done research on her. You can look up one interview she has done and then look up another and the story is different. Reading other books about elvis from other people, their stories are the same, saying yes he had a temper but he wasnt controlling or whatever she claims he was. And yes the elvis 2022 movie wasnt 100 accurate but its more than this fairytale of a book.

These are completely different movies. You cant compare these two actors as Elvis. In the movie, Elvis Austin carries the entire movie. This movie Priscilla is about Priscilla. Jacob is basically playing a supporting role. He didnt need to delve that deep like Austin did. I would like to see Jacob Elordi play a character, where there isnt a shred of violence or creepiness. And for Austin, Id like to see him in anything except tooling around with Kaia Gerber and her multi millionaire daddy and doing photo shoots.

The Elvis Movie was far superior to the Priscilla Movie. In my opinion, the Priscilla Movie was a great disappointment!
Boring, disjointed script, rewritten by the director, Sofia Coppola. And both Actors, though they tried their best, were miscast.
The Elvis actor towers unnaturally above the Priscilla actress.
Do not recommend it. I feel sad for Priscilla because I'm sure that it will fail in Theatres.
I much prefer the 1988 Elvis and Me Miniseries.

Austin's because the chick that did this said it was BASED off of her book meaning she took a bunch of liberty. I got to watch Priscilla, Elordi looks amazing. Butler did such an amazing job but sadly el Elvis movie was trash, it was unwatchable. I feel sad that he even lost his peace of mind for this project, it was really not worth it. look at Tom Hankw, he didn't give a f&ck about acting good in this movie.

I have seen nearly every depiction of Elvis ever done, and Elordi is probably one of the worst five I have seen. He sounds absolutely nothing like him and clearly didn't take much time to understand the man or his nuances/body language (though he definitely did not have as much time to prep as Butler.

There is no competition at all. No one can come even close to the job Austin did. He gave a once I a lifetime time Oscar worthy(which he got robbed of the oscar)Oscar. I have seen the clips from the Percilla movie ad that guy doesn't even come close to the job Butler did let known Elvis himself.

I think that these two films are hard to compare, even though theyre both about Elvis. It is Elvis from two different different perspectives. As the brand as told by his manager is going to be a different Elvis than Priscillas depiction.

BUTLER DESERVED THE OSCAR. Elordi WAS BADLY MISCAST. He looks BAD and sounds FAR WORSE. He couldn't even manage to attain A SOUTHERN ACCENT. None the less sound or sing like Elvis. Sorry, Elordi was A DISASTER casting decision.

my all time favorite Elvis, rhe mini series with Johnathan Rhys Meyers. I became mesmerized by Johnathan Rhys. Austin Butler sings like him, but I have no plans to see Priscilla until it is included on a streaming service

I find the comparison meaningless, since the Elvis of 2022 was the vision of the Colonel of Elvis Presley the artist, and this film Princilla is the vision of Princilla of Elvis off the stage, outside the films.
