Here are the movies that I DONT want a live-action remake of;
10. Kung Fu Panda (2008)
9. Despicable Me (2010) (Gru would look ridiculous in live-action, and can you imagine what the Minions would look like? I cant)
8. Hotel Transylvania (2012) (I bet that would be a horror film in live-action)
7. Cars (2006) (If they were to remake that as well as Cars 2 (2011) and Cars 3 (2017, I definitely think Cars 2 would be the hardest to do of the three due to all the spy elements)
6. Zootopia (2016)
5. My Little Pony: The Movie (2017)
4. Shrek (2001) (Why? BECAUSE HES AN OGRE)
3. Chicken Little (2005)
2. The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993)
Before I get to my number 1 pick, here are some honorable mentions;
-The Simpsons Movie (2007) (I mean, who wants to see yellow-skinned people in live-action? Certainly not me)
-Ice Age (2002)
-Tie of Monsters, Inc. (2001) and Monsters University (2013)
-The Angry Birds Movie (2016)
-Inside Out (2015)
1. Any of the Thomas & Friends or All Engines Go specials (2005-2018, 2021-Present) (Note: Thomas and the Magic Railroad will not be included as it is already a live-action movie. Also, this is for feature-length specials only, so no double-length episodes such as Steam Team to the Rescue or Thomas and the Royal Engine) (the first two, Calling All Engines and The Great Discovery, actually are live-action, but I dont count them as live-action movies because the engines in it are model trains and not real trains. Anyway, imagine if they remade all of those specials and put human-like faces on the engines. To me, that would feel less like Thomas and more like Jay Jay the Jet Plane)
In conclusion, I DONT want a live-action remake of any of these movies. However, if there was one movie I had to choose to be remade in live-action, it would be The Incredibles.
Edit: Fixing a mistake.

To be fair, though, I would really like to see what would The Aristocats look like if it was made around the same time, but if Disney decided to take the Mary Poppins route and make it a live-action-animation hybrid, though with a slight emphasis on the former (live-action) bit. Aristocats in Paris seems like a pretty good premise for Bill Walsh and Don DaGradi (the screenwriters for Mary Poppins, and many other films, like The Love Bug) to work with. They'd still have on board many of the guys to do it. Not just Walsh and DaGradi, but also songwriters Richard M. and Robert B. Sherman (even getting to keep some songs from the animated draft; all they'd need to do is write more, all the songs would be written by the Shermans, and they'd bring Irwin Kostal to help with the score) probably editor Cotton Warburton, effects artists Peter Ellenshaw (maybe including some mattes of Paris painted by the guy) and Eustace Lycett, and director Robert Stevenson. Maybe even bring on board some of the actors who also appeared in the '64 film, like David Tomlinson! Maybe even let the fully animated draft be the show-within-a-show. Maybe the concept being that butler Edgar, played by Tomlinson, is training the cats to sing and dance to carry on his employer's legacy.

people be shaming disney for remaking films. but in my opinion some of the remakes are great, for example cinderella and beauty and the beast. personally i think the new cinderella and the new alice in wonderland (which is incredibly underrated ngl) are better than the originals as much as i love the originals. however there are a lot of disney movies that definitely dont need remaking cough lilo and stitch cough and movies like toy story, wreck it ralph, and the incredibles dont need a remake. in fact no pixar movie needs a remake. other movies like frozen, bolt, zootopia, hercules, princess and the frog, ect also really dont need a live action remake and are amazing the way they are. movies like lion king didnt need a remake as it didnt capture the emotion the original did so i agree with what the comments are saying to an extent. but a few do deserve remakes, and dont shame disney for what theyre doing because a lot of the original disney remakes are really good!

Bottom line is Disney and any other movie house or studio doesn't care what we as individuals may think needs a remake, stopping getting bent out of shape over The Littlle Mermaid remake. They will do whatever they feel will make them more money even if the original was the best thing since sliced bread. This is for better or worse a capitalist country, DISNEY IS OUT TO MAKE MONEY! The trend right now is diversity in casting, which is problematic for lots of folks; who knows the future trend may be to move back to what Hollywood was before diversity was important or to ignore the stories of the current non majority. Someone will be offended or upset regardless of the trend. Imagine if Disney did not bring The Lion King to Broadway. Not only was it expertly redone for Broadway it made Disney lots of money. I for one am happy I experienced the Lion King on Broadway.

Honestly, besides Hunchback and Atlantis, we really don't need any more live action remakes. But if they're planning on remaking them anyway, fine, whatever, but Pocahontas is the one film they cannot remake due to how horrible that would be. Unlike the other remakes which are all based on works of fiction, Pocahontas was a real life person, where the film we got was a horrible misinterpretation of the figure that was written by John Smith to make him look much better than he was. Remaking Pocahontas in any way is an insult to her and her people and needs to be left alone.

What about The Great Mouse Detective?
You Forgot About the Great Mouse Detective! That movie should NOT get a Remake!
Rescuers and Rescuers Down Under Could Work as Remakes (but heres the problem, it would make a live action rescuers 3 sound more impossible to tackle)
6: 55 I wanted some Robin Hood Sequels but Im so upset that they are rebooting it for Disney plus and its gonna make some live action Robin Hood Sequels Impossible to tackle!

Pocahontas and Song of the South are probably the two most problematic movies in the Disney vault. Pocahontas has critics saying it is too historically inaccurate and unbelievable but then a more accurate Pocahontas movie would be extremely dark and depressing given the title character was kidnapped and paraded around England as a promo to get people to move to Jamestown. There is also the issue that she was also 10 when she met John Smith.

The Pixar animation movies are already half way live-action as they are, but still, remakes just need to stop anyway. The Jungle Book 2016 was probably the best live-action movie adaptation out of all of them. Aladdin 2019 barely passed, but all the others are just pathetic, ESPECIALLY The Lion King 2019 and Mulan 2020.

I wouldn't mind a frozen live action remake as long as it was more inline with the original story and not the first frozen movie. As to Pocahontas if it gets redone there needs to way more historical accuracy applied to that remake. Zootopia definitely doesn't need a live action remake, but a sequel might be nice.

Its even worse when Disney tries to remake a notably bad animated film, like Chicken Little and Home on the Range, where now they have to be even more mean spirited or juvenile with their humor and even be left with photorealistic monstrosities that call themselves Disney animal characters.

If Disney wanted to go for a live action Toy Story, Jesse Perrotta and Jonason Pauley already did it 8 YEARS ago and if they actually wanted to make it, make them involved with production because Jesse and Jonason are talented people.

No. 9 made me smile; some friends gave me The Aristocats flyaway backpack and wallet for Christmas. And, I definitely agree about not remaking any of the Toy Story movies. On that note, I'm not planning on seeing the new Lightyear movie.

I find it HILLARIOUS that people take time to complain about remarks and sequel
Guess what?
YOU'RE NOT IN THE DIRECTOR SEAT!
Remakes and sequel are a natural part of the human storytelling process so you're just wasting time

Why are people mentioning some of These 3d animated movies as remakes? When I mean that, I mean like Frozen. Wreck it Ralph. Zootopia and one for a Pixar remake of toy story? Those are 3d animated and why would Disney do those ones

I rewatched this video because I was sure Moana was on this list. Per Emily's point, if it's too soon to do a live action Zootopia, then it's definitely too soon to do a live action Moana! But they're doing it!

I hate to say it but Bambi is getting a remake. And just like The Lion King remake they wont have emotion. So dont be surprised if they screw up Bambis mothers death, like they did with Mufasas.

So, as of the posting of this comment, it has been two years since this video was posted. Serious question: are those Pocahontas and Lilo & Stitch remakes still in the works?

I'm sick of live action remakes. I want 2D animation to come back. I'm literally boycotting modern Disney movies and refuse to see them until I get a 2D animated Disney film.

Pocahontas should absolutely NEVER get a remake! As Emily said, the film's romanticized depiction of historical events and its depiction of Native Americans have aged poorly.

If we're talking just live action CGI, for some movies that would be kinda pointless cause a lot of Disney movies are primarily/completely animals.

Instead of doing a remake of Emperors New Groove what Id like to see is either an origin story of Yzma or the original version with the music by Sting!

Another reason a live action remake of The Emperors New Groove is kind of a bad idea is because no one can play Yzma better than the late Eartha Kitt.

Honestly I didn't need the Lion King remake. They had one job, extend the Simba vs Scar battle and instead we get a lame Nala vs the Hyena.

What happened to originality? Too many remakes these days. They need to come up with new ideas! They are going overboard already.
