#4: The boat ride from Willy Wonka. I wouldn't really call that as so much an unexpectedly dark moment as much as a sign of things to come. I mean, considering the fact that one kid falls into the chocolate river and gets sucked into the tube, another kid gets turned into a giant blueberry and another gets miniaturized, the boat ride is more foreboding than anything else. Let's face it: If you hadn't seen the boat ride and its eerie freakiness, you'd have been far more disturbed when the kids face their punishments. But, after the boat ride, the punishments seem almost expected.

Mufasa s death is the darkest and most heartbreaking moment in all of children s movies. The magnitude of it was unlike anything because absolutely nobody saw that coming, let alone at the hands of his own brother. Still to this day, his death hits hard.

He can't see without his glasses! He was gonna be an acrobat! My heart breaks for Vada in this scene, since she not only has to live with the guilt of indirectly killing her best friend, but his funeral is at her house.

I didn't watch The Lion King until middle school, so my Disney traumatic event was Sitka's sacrifice in Brother Bear. As always, my second favorite Disney movie doesn't get enough credit in almost every aspect

If I had my way, Woody and the crew would ve met their end in the incinerator, which is how _Toy Story 3_ should ve ended. That's why we have edits of that to make it happen in head-canons.
