we re counting down our picks for the movie stars whose performances left a big impression over a relatively short period of time. Our countdown includes Heath Ledger, River Phoenix, John Belushi, and more! Who s YOUR favorite movie actor whose star burned bright and fast? Tell us in the comments! River Phoenix was poised to have a very successful career, and he'd already been nominated for an Oscar for Running on Empty. He'd be seriously proud of Joaquin for having a solid career, who knows what River could have accomplished, if not for his untimely passing.

Marilyn Monroe, James Dean, Heath Ledger, Lupe Velez, Jayne Mansfield, Chris Farley, Phil Hartman, Carmen Miranda, Estelita Rodriguez, Maria Montez, Judith Barsi, Dominique Dunne, Rebecca Schaeffer, Brandon Lee, etc. There are so many people I'm trying to think of, but what we can all agree on is that these deaths left so many what could have been as they were so talented and are more known for their legend.

I feel like this list was made by someone who didn t know what cinema was and had two hours to learn about it via Wikipedia or something. It s the only reason I can think off why they add Louise Rainer and not Rudolph Valentino or Jean Harlow who dies in their 30s and 20s in the 30s and 20s. They are both giants of filmmaking

Honorable mention: Peter Ostrum who's only film role was as Charlie Bucket in the iconic Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. He decided not to pursue any further acting and became a vet.

Bruce Lee, Heath Ledger, James Dean, they chased the American Dream. It was short like a falling comet but man does the impact last Forever.

That Chadwick Boseman was in the last stages of cancer during the filming of last two movies and delivered excellent performances regardless.
