I know that Burt Reynolds was offered roles in MASH and Terms of Endearment. Not only did he regret turning those roles down, but even when he was still a huge movie star, he described the regret he felt like going into his back yard and hitting himself in the face with a shovel.

Matrix would have been a disaster with Will Smith as Neo. Can't imagine anyone else other than Keanu Reeves in the role. Have enjoyed Will Smith in the MIB roles but Matrix was far from any comedy and not sure he has the chops for it.

I gotta be honest, some of these were better off with who ended up being in the finished project.
For example, I love Michelle Pfeiffer, but I can't see anyone pull off that perfectly realistic and established character like Jodie Foster

I can’t imagine Eddie Murphy being in who framed Roger rabbit he’s a good actor a great comedian and the movie is a comedy, but that’s not a comic role for the detective and he was pretty young only 27! During the film

I read that Molly Ringwald was offered both Julia Roberts' role in Pretty Woman, and Demi Moore's in Ghost, with the character literally being named Molly in the latter case. Needless to say, she regrets turning them down.

Heath Ledger turned down the role of Batman in Batman Begins, but he was able to be in the Dark Knight as Joker. It would be interesting to see an alternate universe where he played Batman.

Matt Damon made the right decision. James Cameron is a self-indulgent producer who makes commercially popular bad movies. The Bourne series was masterclass.

Keanu Reeves for The Matrix had the perfect 'linear' face and body type. I can't imagine Will Smith's more rounded yet 'chunky' features suiting the part.

So Eddie Murphy was in Imagine That, Dr. Dolittle, Meet Dave, and The Adventures of Pluto Nash, but turned down Roger Rabbit because it didn't make sense Huh

I guess in the Elle Woods case that’s why Reese Witherspoon and Christina Applegate never did an episode together as Rachel’s sisters on Friends

Will Smith slapping himself for regretting the role of the matrix, but when you think about it, he kinda dodged a bullet because the last 3 sequels sucked

For number 1 The Bourne ultimatum was actually a good movie and he was the number one main character for avatar there’s several main characters

I remember Daniel Stern nearly passing on Home Alone and saying how he can’t believe he almost missed out on that opportunity.
