As a Jewish man we know about discrimination. The Uncle Remus stories were secret coded stories. I cannot give credit to this piece on the internet. Many of the stories he relates through Remus are clearly subversive of American apartheid's hierarchies. They spring from a tradition with roots in Africa, and also in Northern and Eastern Europe - the animal tale, with moral lessons about escape from submission and the value of cunning.
Amos and Andy was a very controversial tv show. Many people color were critical. Others, many of the best Black actors, singers, educators, leaders were of the opposite of first group’s concerns. Amon and Andy was the first sitcom featuring an all Black cast. I think it comes down to perspective. It is a discredit people who have tried to discredit other intentions. After, not all Jews are rich, have big noses, enunciate with unusual accents, control Hollywood, hate Arabs, and these stereotypes everyone knows.
After Splash Mountain was forced to close I blamed feaux politically correct folks who have read Uncle Remus Tales and never seen Amos and Andy. Please!

Removing the original Journey In to Imagination was also a big mistake Disney did. I could go on about their mistakes with their parks. On a different note, I'd like to see MsMojo talk about obscure mascots [including Orange Bird and Fud Wrapper from Disneyworld] such as the 1970s version of Jack from Jack In The Box [there's a Jack In The Box Wiki and a few 1970s animated ads on YT], Gilbert Giddyup from Hardee's, and Jeff from Burger Chef Restaurants. And if there's ever another video on hated kids show characters, PLEASE include Maxi from Roary The Racing Car, especially his actions in Braking Promises!

These past several years have been rough in the movie side of things.
I think Disney cares too much of its own brand. Add to that, spreading its own franchises, thinning them. Ironically, this led Disney's brand became synonymous with being generic or even cheap.
They won big this year, however, with 'Inside Out 2' and apparently 'Deadpool & Wolverine'. But until proven otherwise, they are exceptions.

It's a shame they never released the Briar Rabbit segments of Song of the South as their own small animated short.
I'm pretty sure that would've done fine and, as someone who never saw Song of the South because I don't think even my parents were alive at the time, I'd have at least liked to see the animated segments

One of Disney's BIGGEST mistakes was making Peter Pan the villain of the Chip N Dale Rescue Rangers movie, considering the tragic fate of Peter Pan's original voice actor. And using the original book and the common joke of Peter Pan growing up aren't excuses, I'm very sure Disney knew what they were doing.

ehhh with Blythe he was a competitor in the 80s and then. his own quality went down. by the time he was a working for Fox he was a shell of himself Anastasia has been said to be his most Disney -esque work featuring sings and a lost princess. also it's use of CGI was absolutely horrid

I’m fed up before these negative list. you know like at least the positives are there making A positive return to cinema after a disappointing year last year. now with Deadpool and wolverine and inside out 2 becoming the number one highest grossing an animated film of all time

From a theme parks perspective, I remember Alien Encounter in Tomorrowland at Walt Disney World was a bust. I enjoyed it but it was really intense. It was so scary that the closed it quickly to tone it down, and then it eventually became Stitch's Great Escape.

Some of Disney sequels weren’t that bad. I enjoyed Lion King II, Little Mermaid Return to the Sea, and Beauty & The Beast The Enchanted Christmas. I think they would have done better as theatrical releases but that’s just me

I hate Disney because they completely shut down BLUE SKY STUDIO, the same company that brought us Ice Age, Robots, The Peanuts Movie and so many others, luckily we are glad that Nimona honored our once favorite animation company.

I can't believe that the crew actually pushed lemmings off a cliff to perpetuate the myth that they die by suicide. They'd never get away with that stunt if they tried it nowadays, and they'd be sued by numerous animal rights groups.
reply

What about Home Sweet Home Alone That movie was absolutely, as fun as waking up on Christmas morning and getting nothing but coal. Also, you forgot to mention the getting sued by Scarlette Johansson

Casting Johnny Depp as a Native American was a terrible idea. I don't care how talented he is or if he has Native American ancestry, that role should have been given to a Native American actor.
reply

I think releasing On Stranger Tides was dropping the ball because it effectively killed the franchise and is the sole reason those movies aren't considered one of the greatest trilogies ever.
reply

So not only did they needlessly kill lemmings, they also spread misinformation leading people to believe that lemmings actually jumped off cliffs, which they don't!
reply

Not every Direct-To-Video Disney sequel was bad. King of Thieves, Lion King 2, Lion King 1 1/2, the Stitch movies and Enchanted Christmas were really good, imo
reply

Now with Don Bluth, he started strong but sadly went down hill. His best: Land before time, NHIM, American tail, all dogs go to heaven, Anastasia
reply

Robin Williams ALSO got an original Picasso painting in that apology from Disney. HOW COULD YOU LEAVE THAT OUT It's the most interesting part!
reply

Unfortunately, the Disney company has always been more focused on money and fame than the influence and quality of their entertainment service.
reply

Im still gonna call it Splash Mountain
It just fits with the other major thrill rides in Disney; Space Mountain and Thunder Mountain
