We know, its Hollywood. For these celebs, their roles didnt really require them to look thin but producers felt that they needed to lose a few pounds before appearing on screen for the role. Celebs like Margaret Cho, Amy Schumer, Kate Beckinsale, Hayley Atwell, Margot Robbie, Jennifer Lawrence, Jason Segel, Judy Garland and Carrie Fisher were all pressured to lose weight

You guys forgot something about Judy Garland. During her time working on the wizard of Oz, she had to stay below 130lbs in order to even be considered to be casted as Dorothy.
And when she did get the part, she was often told to take pills to relieve her appetite. There are also accounts that she would be followed home to make sure that she stayed on her strict diet of chicken noodle soup and Coffee to keep her weight down.
And for the rest of her life, she suffered with body image issues and got addicted to those pills they gave her that would later result in her death.
Indeed, Very sad.

This should never be a thing. No one should be forced to lose weight for a role. It's pathetic and degrading. If someone asked me to lose weight, I would tell them straight up to f off. They should be able to act the way they are. Who cares about weight varieties in films and TV shows? I know I don't care. We shouldn't stand for this attitude from the biz.

My niece did some modeling while in high school for JC. Pennys and her modeling coaches or whatever they are called told her to lose weight and she was already like a stick figure. 5 foot 10 and she weighted like 115 pounds, they said for her to lose 8 more pounds. I was like seriously?

Personally, I think the powers-that-be in Hollywood are so pathetic about certain actors that have to follow certain demands for so-called physical perfection. What a goddamn shame! The actors, particularly the ones in this latest video, are just fine the way they are. Period.
reply

Over 140?
Uh. they DO account for body-mass-index, right? Like I'm 5ft 8 and in the 150s, and that's actually a normal healthy weight for my height.
Real sad. Especially since a number of these people didn't look that bad.

Carrie Fisher she have to lose 100 pounds for Leia and before her come back role she lost 84 pounds alongside with Mark Hamill who lost 50 pounds for his come back role as Luke Skywalker for the sequel trilologies.

Jennifer Lawrence has the right to say that she has a curvy body. its annoying that obese women are body shaming thinner or healthier body. and labeling themselves as curvy and calling others thinner, bones

When I saw the thumbnail I thought it referred to Jennifer Lawrence losing weight particularly for the Hunger Games which kind of confused me since Katniss didn't really look malnourished in the movie

Horrible how they treated Judy Garland, she was really short like 4'11 and was tiny to begin with. Her mother was disgusting she told MGM to give her pills to stay slim if needed.

No one is forced to lose weight. All these people could have simply disagreed to make the movie, but they don't because they only care about the big paycheck that comes with it.

Anne Hathaway had to be nothing but skin and bones for Les Miserables. Of course, she had to play a sickly prostitute, so I guess that made more sense.

What a surprise! Of the 10 cases, 8 were women. but hey, for some people there is no the difference how the world sees and treats men and women

You mean top 10 celebrities who CHOSE to lose weight in order to make millions and millions of dollars for a few months of work.
reply

This just shows that Hollywood wants to stay far away from realism and acceptance, especially when it comes to women

Jennifer Lawrence was a Fat-ass once but now she is fine
P. S Christian Bale weight loss in The Machinist was epic.

I love how guys are whatever about it and women make such a big deal of it. I do think that there is a limit though.
