Thank you for showcasing my Top 2 faves Anora and The Brutalist. 2024 has many good films (including the Best Picture nominees) but the two in my opinion represent 2024’s unique and special contribution to cinema. Mikey Madison and Adrien Brody carried their respective films on their shoulders to much critical acclaim. Directors Sean Baker and Brady Corbet are certainly the auteurs of the moment and the future. Such visionaries and so bold bringing forth gritty, gutsy, creative, and experimental cinema.
I love the inclusion of Cinematography here. The Brutalist has so many amazing shots Hope you can make separate videos highlighting top moments from Anora and The Brutalist so many people out there still don’t understand these gems!

I know the only nominees I wanted winning is all the Wicked possible my hopeful winners I know I voted for me as a very huge musical fan myself. This musical fan sees Wicked as the best musical movie that came out in the year 2024 my opinion. I am happy though Wicked got at least 2 winners for the oscars better then Wicked winning none at all to me.

The most un-impressive part was the none of the nominated songs were sung. We heard Bond songs & a visual tribute (why, but not this year’s songs. A terrible decision. And I love award shows & don’t mind the Oscars being 4 hours long, so they should have sang the songs!

I'm glad that The Substance won for Best Makeup Effects, which it definitely deserves, though as happy as I was for Mikey Madison's win, I was hoping that Demi Moore would emerge triumphant. Even Moore initially looked disappointed at losing.

I would have included something about Flow. That was an amazing animated feature and deserved its Oscar win. I haven't seen a meaningful and memorable animated feature like that one in a while. Lovely and thought provoking.

Roman Roy finally has an Oscar, as does Gamora. It's safe to say that everyone collectively cringed when the Emilia Perez writers randomly started singing during the acceptance speech, and the band awkwardly played them off.

Gotta be real, I only watched the Oscars to see if No Other Land would win. Once Basel and Yuval finished their acceptance speeches, I stopped watching. It's not like I watched most of the nominees.

Erm instead of having Wicked two times here you better had the Sandworm Ride from Dune - even Spielberg stated on the red carpet, that this was the best VFX scene of the last few years

I object to what scene won by Mikey Madison the Oscars 2025 Best it is the very last scene with Igor in the car (still I prefer Demi Moore for The Substance in the mirror scene)
reply

I'm shocked you didn't expect Zoe Saldana to win - she won the sags, baftas, globes, critics choice, cannes. Literally swept the entite season despite the emilia perez backlash
reply

I thought this year's academy award show was better than recent years. I am very ecstatic about Anora getting the recognition the film deserved.

Culkin range of acting is one note, but they love him. I could not get through the movie, I kept seeing Roman Roy in a sweatshirt.
