or it’s meant to serve as an entry point for future generations
People only think of themselves not future generations
remakes exist partly for a reintroduction to a new generation but also to renew the trademark so they don’t lose it
I commend the creativity of artists who have to work within the confines of a preexisting continuity
These stories stick with people so much that they get to grow up and later work on them and expand their universe and wanna see even more and that’s a beautiful thing
There’s always new stories to tell doesn’t mean we have to write off every sequel
It’s no different than our ancestors passing down campfire stories with details of that story being changed overtime
That’s what remakes/reboots/sequels are campfire stories being passed down by our ancestors from generation to generation with details being changed overtime
Because That’s your problem You guys really need to stop putting sequels/remakes/reboots/adaptations in the shadow of the originals and just let them have their own independent successes and create their own individual charm and magic and be treated as something completely separate it’s a nasty habit that needs to be stopped
Reboots and the originals can coexist stop making everything a competition
It’s not horrible they were just going for what fits the tone
If they had used the og design for a serious story it would have looked too uncanny
the updated one isn’t made for old fans it’s made to bring in new ones who maybe didn’t know the original existed
They check out the new one and maybe it leads them to discover the original
Reboots put the original back in the public eye
You don’t want what you grew up with to be forgotten do you
This is a way to keep it alive and relevant it’s beneficial for everyone
Like I said That’s what remakes/reboots/sequels are campfire stories being passed down by our ancestors from generation to generation
it’s not your problem anyway it’s for future generations you have yours let someone else have their own
Streaming services can remove things so it can be gone forever at the press of a button so revisits are nice to have to keep it in the public eye
It’s their property their rules
You are just a mere passenger on their bus you can get off anytime you want but you don’t tell them how to drive
We are guests in their house if we don’t like their rules we can leave
Do you tell the home owners how to run their house
No you don’t
you should have watched enough multiverse media to be open minded to different universes having different rules
The acting takes effort the cgi takes effort the editing the writing takes effort they have to make entirely new scripts it’s more effort than you realize you may not like them that doesn’t mean they were low effort it takes a whole team of people to make these thing happen no matter how they ended up they at least tried so please don’t be disrespectful
Back in the day our ancestors used to retell campfire stories over and over again every generation in order to preserve those stories and their history but because of how unreliable human memory is sometimes details change Overtime and remakes are no different retelling the same stories is literally human nature

I’ve never been a big fan of the live action remake genre. I’ve seen a couple, Aladdin was OK. The little mermaid was good enough to maybe be separated from its original animation, But who asked for, and ever wanted a live action stitch. I’m blind, so I haven’t actually seen the trailer, but thinking of Stitch brought into 3-d photo realism just freaks me out.
Disney also needs to remember that only are they really disenchanting viewers with remake of these classic stories, but part of what makes Disney Disney, and the stories what they are is an animation. How else are you going to pull off things like like a talking dog, magical, genie, blue, alien, Etc.

Lilo made the original _Lilo & Stitch_ unlikeable, so I don’t see this May’s remake any better, and the more we bash the dumpster fire that is this year’s _Snow White, _ the better. It didn’t deserve to see the light of day. Just to be clear, let me quote WM’s Patrick Mealey, the narrator of last night’s video on how the remake butchered the original fairy tale: in the Brothers Grimm’s source material SNOW WHITE IS SEVEN YEARS OLD!

Excuse you! Lady and the Tramp is my fave movie (Disney or otherwise) and I was looking forward to watching the live ation version when Disney launched. Heck it was THE first thing I watched. Yeah the movie doesn't have a fanbase that is as large as say Frozen but it DOES have a fanbase. and the live action remake is one of the better/best ones Disney has done.

I don’t think The Lion King’s a badly made movie in my opinion, it’s just not a great adaptation. After all it’s just telling the same old story. I highly disapprove of the Moana remake, however. In the case of Snow White, the dwarves were the worst part about it.

I’m trying not to get my hopes up for the live-action Lilo & Stitch movie, but I can’t help but feel the humor and warmth when watching the trailer, feeling like it’s the same story in a different form unlike other live action remakes.

Disney won't stop until they remake every single single animated classic. Sometimes, nostalgic properties should be left in the past, and not try to make mediocre, soulless recreations.

C'mon, Disney! This isn't the right thing to do! You should know better than this. Those classic animated features showed the true magic of the Walt Disney company!

As much money as they wasted on this live-action remake, we could have got a brand new 2D animated movie CONTINUING the story of Lilo & Stitch instead.

Most of these animation studios need to back to the drawing board and spend time on new ideas instead of these doggone formulated remakes!

The Lion King remake definitely deserves to be here.
Moana and Lilo & Stitch don’t need live action remakes, they’re perfect as is.

The only good live action remake of Disney's that I remember is the jungle book. Almost every other one was a waste of time

The only live action versions I liked where Cinderella 2015, Jungle Book and Aladdin. The rest were more or less forgettable to me.

I didn’t ask for a remake of How to Train Your Dragon, but I’m still gonna watch it though because I love dragons.
