Actually 'Songs of the South' was not racist at all. It was based on Joel Chandler Harris's character of Uncle Remus. Mr Harris was an anti-racist. he supported a vision of the New South with the editor Henry W. Grady, stressing regional and racial reconciliation after the Reconstruction era. He got those stories he had heard since he was young from the slaves of Turnwold Plantation. So these stories came from the black community itself.
Here's a quote from Joel chandler Harris: An editor must have a purpose. [. ] What a legacy for one's conscience to know that one has been instrumental in mowing down the old prejudices that rattle in the wind like weeds.

Admittedly I find most of these interesting, except number 2 and 1 which are just sad, and knew them all. I also think Song of the South is a great movie whose songs I love and it doesn't represent what people think it does, at least if I remember the movie correctly from when my parents showed it to me as a kid.

I don't like that they showed us this cuz Disney has its more beauty than it's ugly plus they've improved of those mistakes since then
I've been to Disneyland & world 3 times and despite what this video has shown it will never take away the creativity that is Walt Disney

What's ironic about #3 is Zipadeedooda is such a popular song and Splash Mountain is ripped right out of the animated stories. heck you can even meet all 3 of them in the park (or you use to. think you can still meet them but not sure)

One surprising little known fact is that Disney actually wanted to drop animation production prior to his death. He felt he had already done it and didn't feel any need to continue with it. He was more interested in developing the parks.

Ok, first of all Song of the South was made during a different Tim period with different view, and Lemmings already throw themselves into bodies of water by natural instinct. Most of your arguments were pretty crappy.

Just because it stars a black dude and sorta talks about racism, doesn't mean it's racist. What about twelve years a slave or something less depressing? In fact, woulsn't it be better for black actors in generell?

I think the new Disney from 2008 to present is filled with bad morals and media. Most of the new TV shows, movies, and games are extremely crappy and mean.

Sadly, Fact #2 doesn't surprise me at all. There are some sick people in the world who will use any means necessary to get what they want.

I remember seeing the photos of one of the abandoned parks online and they were actually really beautiful in a haunted sort of way.

If Disney really wants to pretend that Song of the South never happened they should remove Splash Mountain from their theme parks.

As for as racial cartoons you can throw in ALL of 1930-1970's cartoons to that list. Tom and Jerry and Looney Toons to name a few.

I don't think they should be banning or sweeping it under the rug because we are doomed to repeat our history if we forgot.
