Let's be honest. Rory is nothing like the 16 year old girl she used to be. The fact that she is NOTHING like the created character starting at season 4 is insane. And quite honestly, she is the product of the class system that is showcased throughout the series. Treating people horribly. Flighty. No real aspirations beyond floating along. It was the most horrible revival I have ever seen. And to insert that she ends up with Jess? Eww. Even the treatment of Paul. I watched it once and won't ever watch it again.
From a human perspective, I get changing. I get that change comes sometimes with intense, traumatic events. But that isn't what happens. Mitchem telling her she doesn't have it - isn't traumatic. Even Jess leaving - that was a boon to her life. He was a wreck of a person and a horrible character. Even the ups and downs of Logan really can't be seen as traumatic. She chose to stay and be involved in that. IN fact, Logan was and is the most likely person to have any long term relationship with simply due to the classism.
Jess = Poor/low class worked up to maybe MAYBE working class. Dean = Working class/Middle class. Paul = train wreck, but seemed more middle class. Logan is the ONLY one that matched the privileged, Upper class lifestyle. And it shows.
The writer lost the mojo. And I am kind of glad she didn't finish the series. Because it is almost like she went on a coke bender for seasons 4-6 before being thrown out at the abrupt changes to characters that were happening.
The ONLY positive thing in that whole revival was the growth of Emily.

The emily redemption arc was one of the best thing coming ftom this revival, dealing with the lost of richard and becoming a better person overall. The relashionship between her and lorelai being fixed felt good to see.
The Ending for me was good but it was not the right time for it, saddly Amy sherman diddn't get to do it on the 7th original season (it was her planned ending aall along apparently) because she left the series or whatever happens. Trully a miss for me. If the original series ended 6 month or so after rory's trip then same scene mom, yeah, i'm pregnant would have a better impact cause she was only 22, the maybe we could've add a line to lorelai me too hun and them being prengnant toghether.
The in the revival we woul've seen the with 10y old kids i guess, but it would've been better than the entitled/mess that rory herself and her carreer became in the rivival.
Idk if it makes sens but i though i'd just write a comment and see if someone thought the same
edit: LOVED michel's storyline and the series finaly making michel openly gay

I love it how in the last episode of season 7, the camera zooms out of Lukes diner with Rory and Lorelie in it. The exact same way the camera zooms out on them in the diner in the original intro from season 1. If thats not the perfect way to do a closing scene the idk what is, even though Palladino had something else in mind. Season 7 closing scene somehow still keeps the magic of the little town intact. It comes full circle In terms of how we were first introduced to the paid- at their favourite place. And were left with somewhat of an assurance that Rory will not disappoint us as much out there in the real world.

Emily was the best Gilmore girl, she learned from her problems, never tip toed, was honest, took responsibility after a few fights of course, always welcomed, she never hesitated to do things for her daughter and grand daughter, all she wanted was her family to be whole, sure she was cold and distant but she tried, she was from a whole different time, she liked the old ways like many parents or grand parents do, cuz its her normal, and in the end she was able to move on, I loved how she didnt dwell on Richards death, she grew from it cuz he would have wanted her to enjoy life and thats what she did

Rory was a bit sheltered when it came to life, she made mistakes that she shouldn't have, in her love life and her professional. Imagine if she would have taken that job for that newspaper in Providence (I think it was) and not go for the NY times that she didn't get in the end.
Starting small is the right way to go in your career, make mistakes then grow. But I can't be mad at this portrait of Rory because it is honest, you don't get a happy ending in life unless you go though a lot of unhappy moments. It's real, very real

Is anyone else disappointed by Rorys path? It's like all her potential was washed down the drain, cheating with Logan (they should have just gotten back together or married. No real career, back home at the schools she started at. They could have made it so much better, especially since the series ended with her working with Barak Obama. She would have worked at the white house. Everything about how her character in the year in the life is just sad. Total disappointment.

There was a scene where Luke got furious for Lorelai coming to see him before ther wedding day because he said it was a bad omen, and then Jess was with him that time, while Rory was with Lorelai on the other side of the house, and it all sparked to me that moment that maybe, Jess was Rory's Luke. (As well as, if Logan was her baby daddy, he would've been her Christopher, which would suck) Maybe Jess and Rory COULD be the ENGDGAME! Who knows?

The amount that they focused on age really bothered me. For instance, Rory saying I'm not so young, but realizing she's the same age Lorelei was in the beginning of the original series. And Laurel I was so youthful and successful. They made everyone very hyper focused on age, and it was a bit depressing. I miss the youthfulness of the original series, even though those characters were older also.

Not watching, just clicked through so that I could say to MsMojo you're nuts if you liked the revival. It was a great idea. and the worst imaginable execution. Has permanently tainted the preceding seven seasons for me by revealing the characters we thought were lovable and wacky actually were awful, overrated people the whole time that we were just giving the benefit of the doubt.

That tour of the house when Richard showed up absolutely destroyed me. I came to gilmore girls just after my grandfather died when I was 12 and Richard and he look so much alike that I instantly adored Richard's character. His death absolutely broke my heart because it felt like I'd lost another part of my grandfather.

I feel like the final four words wouldve been so much more powerful if Rory had been more successful, or at least acted like a decent person when faced with problems. That couldve shown that, despite how far the girls have come, they are both still Lorelai Gilmore at their core, more similar than they are different.

Hey, if Jess is rory's luke and Logan is her Christopher, does that mean Dean is her max? I mean, the drama may not have been totally similar, but both were persistent in their efforts to be with their crush, only to be heartbroken because the other person wasn't committed.

Im confused if the end of the series in season 7 was supposed to be Rory pregnant, then Im guessing that she wouldve had to been pregnant by Logan? . because thats who she was involved with when it ended and he left to go to California, and she graduated college.

by the end of the reg show, I didn't like Rory. By the end of the revival I hated Rory. How the heck didn't Lorelai and Luke learn to communicate in all those years? They could've kept this one in the drafts lol. There was one or two high points though.

yes emily definitely had the best storyline.
glad that kirk made it in the list, who could get tired of him.
another good thing about the revival is the selection of musics/songs was far lots better than the entire 7 seasons combined.

I think the reason we didn't see the actual wedding was because of Sookie. Melissa was only available for one scene at a certain time and it would have made no sense if she didn't appear at the wedding since she and Lorali are best friends.

IMHO, the final four words totally fell flat. IF they had happened 10 years earlier. but Rory was about the age Lorelai was at the end of the series. she's not following the pattern. it's decades late to be as emotionally impactful.

Im pissed Chad Michael Murray wasnt able to make it on the show. They would have given him something more than a cut scene if he could have been there. I heard he was having a baby at the time, his lose lol

Knowing that the last four words were ASPs original ending for season 7 now, I think its safe to say that Logan has always been meant to be the father.

Every scene with Lane and Zach. Really liked them in the revival. Also I think the Life and Death Brigade scene was more than an honourable mention for me!

Incoming unpopular opinion. Sookie, to me, was smart about food, but annoying as hell. I was grateful to have only seen her for that single moment.
