OMG, The Outsiders cast is a who's who of 80's heartthrobs. C. Thomas Howell, Ralph Macchio, Patrick Swayze, Rob Lowe, Tom Cruise, Emilio Estevez, Matt Dillon and Leif Garrett. St Elmo's Fire gave us an INCREDIBLY hot Rob Lowe. Then along came Young Guns. Emilio Estevez, Kiefer Sutherland, Lou Dimond Phillips, Dermott Mulroney and Charlie Sheen (in his youthful, attractive years. Never really cared for Richard Grieco though, I was always more of a Johnny Depp gal. Corey Haim was the better looking of the two Coreys (Haim and Feldman, River Phoenix was up and coming in the 80's, but it seems like he never became a household name until after his death. Gone too soon for sure. I also don't remember Robert Downey Jr. as a standout in the 80's. Again, he seemed to become more of a household name after he went to prison. I'm not slagging on RDJ, he's one of my favorite actors, but I feel like his post prison career has been 1000 x's better than his pre-prison, coked up career. Oh and lets not forget John Cusak! Hello!

On the one hand it seems kind of crazy not to have River Phoenix on this list, but on the other hand he didn't seem to be into the whole heartthrob status anyway so he probably wouldn't have minded: ) But still, he was the best dang actor of that generation, and seemed even more beautiful and kind a person than he was lovely to look at!

If anybody saw the recent A Team movie from about 5 or 6 years back it costarred Brian Bloom as one of the villains. Also he co penned that film. I live in Ireland and I never knew he was around in the 80s.
