Dishonored: Definitive Edition includes Arkane's stealth-action title and all its DLC, but how has the game fared graphically in its transition to current-gen consoles? We took a look at the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 4 versions of the game to find out

So, not only is it running at only 30 fps, but there's also literally no upgrades or positive changes, graphically or otherwise, at all?
Smh.
Generally I don't mind remasters and well-ported re-releases, particularly when they improve on the original content, but beyond the new-gen availability, what exactly is supposed to be the selling point here?
I feel like all they basically did is just retarget the PC version for x86 consoles, locked it at 30fps, and called it a day. (Probably not in a much longer time-frame than that, either) Extremely lackluster and disappointing.
Oh well.
At least nothing has been worsened or removed. (Hopefully)

People are complaining way too much about this. Yes it could be much better graphically and have much better fps, but it's still a good buy. It's a good opportunity for newcomers to play the game on the next gen consoles, and for returning players, you get to play the entire game over again with all the dlc's for only $20. In terms of the differences in graphics, I think the colors look a lot more vibrant on next gen. With audio, it feels like there's an improvement in the quality. Just my thoughts though.

This version is pretty much focused on people who haven't played the game yet, or don't have their old consoles anymore.
The old versions still look very good in comparison, the games' art style helps in that aspect.
Still an amazing game, it gets newcomers on this gen ready for the next installment.

Wow there's muddy textures then there's this game hell even the hd mod here
RE4HD. com
for Resident Evil 4 look 10x better, no i don't think about graphics but this here is pure lazyness hell even indie titles made on a shoestring budget like The Old City Leviathan have better texture work.

Well, it really seems like they just changed the settings from Low to Very High. Is it 60fps at least? I love my PS4, but I'm fed up with lazy optimizing like this. Even my 660M can run the PC version with very high settings at 900p with 60fps. This is a fact. Lazy developers.
reply

It should also be mentioned that the PS4 version has the same crap long load times as last gen (25-30 seconds. On PC the load times are literally 3 seconds. If you've already purchased this on last gen and bought this on current gen, you've been played.

wow. this is amazing. amazing how the graphics are not even better but the game still isn't 60fps. disgraceful rerelease. it's a good game, but with a second game around the corner, did they really have to do a half assed port?
reply

So the only thing different is that it's now on current gen.
Wish they did a little more work on this edition other than making it 1080p and 60fps. They didn't add anything else.

Still one of my favorite games, looks basically the same though in this new version but whatever, didn't see a need for it but I may get this anyway cause of how much I love the game: 3

Am I the only one who got emotionally attached to the storyline? Lovely ingame artwork though. The whole game looks like a watercolor painting. Lovely.
reply

It's not called Dishonored remastered, just the definitive edition. As in all the story. They never said it's gonna have completely changed graphics.
reply

Do people realize that definitive edition is just higher resolution with all the dlc included? It doesn-t say remaster in the title, or am I blind?
reply

Am I the only one who found this game to be mediocre at best? Honestly the dlc where you play as daud was wayyy better than the actual story
reply

Looks as good as going from 480p to 1080p to me. Just look at 1: 52
I don't get the people on here who go all smh (so much hate) on this.

PS4 looks overall the best with lovely sharpened textures but I also like the Xbox's darkened shade. Its up to personal preference.
reply

You should be able to get it for a lot cheaper on Steam. Not only that, but even low spec PCs will be able to run it at 30fps.
reply

There's no discernible difference aside from some lighting changes. It was a fantastic game though. Plus the price isn't bad.
reply

Good info; I never played my 360 copy and had considered picking up the Definitive Edition for PS4. Now I know not to bother
reply

Honestly can-t tell any real difference. The washed out low resolution textures continue to be as washed out as ever.
reply

I will say that the Definitive Edition does have some better shading, lighting as well as a much better frame rate
reply

What's the difference between the definitive edition and the normal one for PS3? Are the graphics really that much better?
reply

An excellent game but not one of the best remasters out there. Having 60fps would have made it more worthwhile.
reply

00: 26 the really fixed all the pixelated textures on the boat, look below the guys hand on the xbox 360 one
