I wanted you to be a jaded elitist whod never played a Tony Hawk game before and was spouting needless hatred.
I am an avid THPS fan, i have every game on every console from 1 on.
Heres whats wrong with the game.
You can NOT get off your board in ANY way.
To access player stats youre forced to End Game
When you fall off your board, theres no hurry up button prompt
You cannot revert the camera axis
No wall run
No natas spin
No skitching
Tiny Levels
Attempting a mission within a level means youll have to risk a seperate loading screen with an 80% chance that it never loads OR it tells you the lobby is full, whereupon youll have to do 4-5 button pushes to get back to where you are now before the neverending loading screen for another chance to endure yet another endless loading screen.
This game was made from contractual obligation - NO love was involved in the making (breaking) of this game.

Kind of interesting to take a look at what this game was at release and compare it to what it is now. They bombed release, I'll give you that, but nearly everything you mentioned in the first 5 minutes of this video is now fixed. You also falsely assumed that there were no custom skaters, there were, you just didn't look around the screen and notice that there was a tooltip telling you to push Y for -Custom- skaters.
Two years ago this video would have gotten a thumbs up from me, today it gets a thumbs down. I genuinely think you guys should revisit the game. It's still the worst Tony Hawk game ever, but I think you owe it to the legend to at least correct the mistakes you made and show that they have, in fact, fixed the game.

I just wanna mention that even if there weren't any glitches and the game had no connectivity issues or game breaking bugs, it would still be bad. From a level design, gameplay, control, and basically everything else is just bland, drab, boring, and uninteresting. The controls are sluggish and completely unpolished and the levels are empty with no cars or civilians or any sort of personality to them. The glitches just makes a shitty game even shittier. I'm sick of seeing people say -it's bad because it's glitchy- because the glitches is just one problem in game FULL of problems. More people need to talk about this rather then making fun of the glitches.

It was just a big, bad, bootyhole of a decision to make a fifth Tony Hawk's Pro Skater game at all, let alone after all three of the killer EA Skate games had just permanently eviscerated the THPS series. After Skate 3. Hell, even after Skate 1, THPS could never recover from its new status as the water-trash of skateboarding games, but they brought it back out anyway because -maybe money! Y'know, everyone's online asking EA for Skate 4, and EA isn't delivering, so maybe THPS 5 will scoop up all those fans begging for Skate 4? - That's just not how it works, corporate boomer.

The concepts were nice, seamless transition from online and single player is good on paper, but obviously it should have been optional, have some decent servers so their isnt all this loading and let players choose whether theyd like to do missions on a multiplayer lobby or just by themselves, the social aspect would be nice, but not if it hampers the gameplay.

just to get the platinum for this game i had to delete and re-install this game but without the update as the update made levelling up a whole lot harder Not the worst game i played but the worst platinum i have gotten so far Tony Hawk was good Up Until Proving Ground After that was Pure shit Tony Hawk HD was good but besides that game the rest were shit

at least skate 3 was broken in a hilariously fun way, and still passable otherwise. this tops off an entire beautiful franchise many of us grew up with and adored with a turd that one could laugh at for a while before realising they have a broken piece of garbage with no value beyond a cheap giggle

I feel like this game was rushed and shit out as fast as possible so the dickheads making it could cash in. I almost wonder if they tested it. American Wasteland and Tony Hd were sick, so it-s strange that they managed to mess this up so badly.

This is not in defense of the game but I feel like pointing out blatant advertisements everywhere is pretty normal in a tonyhawk game even though that always seemed pretty counter intuitive to the punk side of skating. God this game looks awful.

Did you know that the disc doesn't even come with the actual game? It only has the tutorial on it. That 7GB+ -patch- that you download the first time you play is actually the entire game (except for the tutorial - that comes on the disc.

ive never played this game but what i see aside from the bugs: the gravity in this game and the physic combined with the camera that is way too close makes this game feel so very different than lets say tony hawks 4 or 3- or ug.

I played this game for about 5 minutes. then drove back to gamestop and bought a used copy of skate 3 and Tony Hawks Proving Grounds. Much better games way cheaper costs
