This change is terrible, it splits the playerbase (in more ways than one, it makes much of our cards useless, cards we worked hard for. It makes new players unable to play awesome adventures and makes it four times as hard to complete our obsolete card collection since you can only craft them and not buy them. Wild will quickly become terribly unbalanced since only Standard will be balanced around and it is the one Blizzard cares for (your rank shown is Standard, you go to Blizzcon only from playing Standard, you won't even get a honourable mention for rank 1 legend on Wild.
It's just a horrible decision, if we all protest strongly enough Blizzard may revert it. Copy past this and similar messages everywhere so we get heard.

They need to have all the same things for both wild and standard, since wild will be generally for the old players, and standard generally for the new.
I just bought Naxxramas and crafted Dr Boom, so standard is not for me. I don't like crafting cards/ buying boosters for cards that will rotate out, so standard is definitely not for me. It's fine if you feel otherwise.
I really hope they keep having pro tournaments and high level play in wild, since wild will be the format for me.

My very recent decision to save up gold and start to play through the Naxxramas expansion at last (having previously spent gold on BRM) now looks rather misguided. Seems a better way forward will be to spend it on League of Explorers, or save up for the new stuff, or possibly just buy standard card packs and try and get a really good base of basics. I wonder if someone will write a guide for 'what to do until we know what's actually going on'.

I just started, per a suggestion I bought some cards and bought 3 adventures as they are fun to play. I understand what is being done to make it fair for newbies, so a new guy like me does not go up against an insane player. then again I should be paired with other new players. BUT when you unlock or craft or buy cards, you WANT to use them. As long as I get compensated with cards lost/retired in dust to make new cards I will be ok.

Standard seems like a good idea, and I like the idea of having the -level- of adventure cards meaning something outside of crafting goldens, but the favorite part of this whole video was hearing FoN + Roar getting nerfed, a cheap combo with no counterplay potential. We need nerfs like this more often not the bull that was the warsong nerf, now if only we could bring secret paladin and tempo mage down a size.

Why are people freaking out about this? No one is taking the Naxx/GvG cards you've already bought, you'll still be able to play with them in the Wild format, which will probably be more popular for the first few months, and you can craft whatever useful cards you don't have if needed. By the way you don't even have to play Standard, you can stick to ranking in Wild mode, and still enjoy all the same perks.

RIP hearthstone.
Naxxrammas is literally the best expansion in the game. It had GLORIOUS writing and amazing challenges. just the PvE was worth the $31 alone! the cards were just a bonus. This adventure getting cut from the game is a terrible idea. Let people buy them! this doesn't help the meta, it just abandons the old one in order for a new one!

MTG has formats revolving around a couple of sets. can't we have multiple formats like that? so, gvg and Naxx, tgt and league. the latter being standard ladder until a new one is released. why do they have to do everything in the dumbest possible way. it seems like the initial people who designed the game left and got replaced by complete idiots.

The Curse of Naxxramus was what got me into hearthstone. I suddenly went from having just the basic stuff to having enough cards to make decent decks. Losing them will suck. Thinking about it further I've used most of my dust I've earned to make goblins v gnomes cards.
This update will gut all my decks.

Confused by the choice to keep Arena wild, haven't played much lately but when I did I was already finding the bloated library hurting Arena, since your likelihood of getting basic utility cards got smaller with each expansion.

would a steam like marketplace not work? The most fun i had as a kid with mtg was trying to make good swaps with friends. This new system basically makes me want to not collect the next cards.

my reaction to this is that rogue will be unplayable in standard format. I guess rogue has no officially passed shaman as the worst class in the game, or at least in the new format. rip valeera

Thanks for the clarification, but now I have buyer's remorse for that deal on classic cards for Winter Veil. Mostly bought them to craft Dr. Boom.
