This game is worth 9 out of 10. it's better than the original game regarding plot even despite gaps adherent to description and background of some characters. Solar Fields' OST is gorgeous, combat system and parkour was improved. So what do any person who likes 2008-s ME need?
Maybe, developers made a mistake claiming Catalyst being an open-world game, because for me it's made in authentic genre where you follow from one mission to another. This open-worldish stuff is nothing like a vehicle for wandering of the beaten plot track, thus there is no point criticizing game for that.
To sum up, there are lots of improvements to be done in the future game, anyway ME: Catalyst is great

I'd say the music was much less impactful than the original game. I think there's a lot of really amazing -setpiece- moments that make the game incredibly fun (like the final mission, and there's a lot of filler. I think the open world didn't really work for Mirror's Edge and I found myself enjoying the missions that felt more linear and more similar to the original game. Also I'm kind of surprised you guys didn't talk about how it's a reboot and the story is different. I think it felt a lot more intense and much more high stakes which I loved.

It is a shame that Mirror's Edge Catalyst isn't getting any higher review scores at the moment. I personally believe that Catalyst is an achievement when it comes to level design. The game gets a 10/10 for me, and I am not trying to say that this game is perfect by any means. I am just saying that what DICE has done in terms of parkour level design is something that not a lot of other developers can do, so for that the game gets high praise from me.

i'd call the game frustrating. yet sometimes fun. i died a ton in this game. it was really hard to get used to the controls, and i just got lost too many times in the game about where to jump. The world felt very empty to me. I remember having way more fun in the first Mirror's Edge, the first felt like a roller coaster ride, and had more action.

I feel like this game has no hype right now because there seemed to be almost no marketing push whatsoever after the first couple trailers. I forgot it was coming out, thankfully I saw the reviews and was reminded it existed and ordered it immediately. I LOVED the original, and I know I'm going to love this one too.

They keep talking about what was broken in the original Mirror's edge, but I can't really remember anything that I thought was broken

Doesn't seem right to review this with an SSD inside an Xbox, changes the experience for the review of the majority

I think Arthur liked it. But it's hard to tell from the sound of his voice.
Interesting discussion!
