No graphical update, no interesting looking assets? This is just the iOS/ Android ported over, no touch ups of any kind. It just looks bland and lifeless. Where's the art direction, you know like in the other Mana games? FF assets are just blatantly in this game. I think that maybe some Dragon quest assets are in there too. Almost everything beeping is not a good thing, beeping speech, beeping hit confirmations, beeping defeat noises. C'mon some things could have been changed to make this better and a worthwhile purchase. The boss fight is comical, just look at the fire balls that it shoots and then watch the red mage character, you'll see what I mean.

hmmm, I don't mind the game, I just thought it it would be more like Sword of Mana for the GBA but with revamped graphics and what not but sadly it IS just an android port and is inferior to the gba title, It looks alright on the PS Vita but it does have that Airy empty feel.
I guess it's alright, but I'd easily pay more for the original,

I don't get it. There was already a remake of this game on GBA a long time ago called -Sword of Mana-, which is miles better than this. I don't understand why anyone would be excited for a game that stripped out all of the improvements to the characters, story, and art that were already there.

This is the 'floaty' version compared to the gritty, down to earth gameboy original. It pampers your eyes and battling is jelly like. Good to hear an orchestral sound track though. I think they went crazy adding colour to be more Secret of Mana ish.

Hmm it somehow manages to look slightly better than the crappy DS FF games but I still despise the art style overall, I would rather have the original game but I will still buy it for funsies dood.

I'm so glad this is just a remake of the original without any fancy gimmicks. Still have my gameboy copy and it makes me depressed. Such a damn good game. Think I'll buy this now.

i thought this was supposed to be a -remake- of the original Secret of Mana? Is this a new game in the series, or was their one in the series previous too the SNES one?
reply

wish they put the original 3 on vita cuz I played the original n the other remake this is lame compared to both only thing keeping me is the menu sound nostalgia
reply

Si this is a remake of the GBA game Sword of Mana that is a remake of the GB game Final Fantasy Adventure (america)/ Mystic Quest (Europe and Asia) lol
reply

Such a lazy remake. All the technical problems from the GBC game are still here. They literally just upgraded the graphics and nothing else
reply

So this is a remake of a remake? I think they should have stuck with the sprite based gameplay, it looked so much better on the GBA.
reply

I still have the original gameboy game. Doesn't work though. :( I don't like the combat all that much in this one.
reply

This looks like a $3. 00 game. Graphics aren't necessary, but gameplay is. This just looks terrible and dull.
