I really don't think Life is Strange is inconsistent with opposing agism. It calls upon tropes, but they fade into the background after players explore the characters' lives. For me, more than anything what's important about Life is Strange is that it doesn't come packaged with the same level of inherent boredom as many small-scale narrative games. Not to mention a complete about face of Telltale's entire episodic buisness / design model.

Totally disagree with Inside not overusing mechanics. Those water sections dragged on. Those -evade something by going back and forth- puzzles repeated ad nauseum. Those -walk in the shadow- light puzzles also. The game was great because of the animation, the style, hell even the physicality of the whole thing. But it definitely overused mechanics.

I feel like Oxenfree didn't get the love it deserved, which is especially upsetting because I think most games could learn a thing or two about its implementation of dialogue. Thanks for shining a spotlight on it, cute, unsettling anime girl!

OXENFREE. I love you. My top 5 games were; Hearts of Iron 4, Rimworld, Titanfall 2, Dark Soul 3, and Oxenfree. I just love the character's so much, and it left me wanting more of them.

Played a bunch of JBPP3 for the first time at a NYE party tonight and damn, earns that honorable mention spot. Super fun in a genre space I generally don't find that interesting.

Nice list, happy that SUPERHOT made it into the list, that game is so intriguing alongside INSIDE and Oxenfree (Doom obviously made the list as expected)
