This man is easily my favorite musician of all time. The versatility he brings is just incredibly brilliant. He could make anything he wants and make it great and very catchy at the same time. Nothing I feel is off limits to him. No one has ever been able to capture my imagination and emotions as great as him with his compositions. His musical range from very complex to masterfully simple, is a truly unique ability. Never have I been so inspired by anyone as much as I have this genius of a musician. I hope to one day (highly unlikely) just be told I have a shred of potential by him in my fanmade tributes inspired by his Final Fantasy compositions. If that ever happened by some miracle, I feel like I have met one of the most important personal goals regarding music in my life. If not, I will always from time to time, create Final Fantasy inspired themes in honor of this legend.

I continually have this thought about one winged angel every time when listening to it. This song can't be replicated. At least not so simply and easily. And after His process in this video, I feel that is correct! It ENDED up being iconic which time told, but talent and skill unmatched was there to make it, but also the unique-ness of it has no equal. His puzzle method was used ONLY once. The makes the theme even more interesting.

This also means he came up with the music for my favorite childhood Final Fantasy, which was labelled II in America but was actually IV in the sequence.
I found that music to be absolutely captivating, especially the heart-rending moments like with Edge's parents.
Seriously, imagine if Batman had to fight his own parents who had been turned into monsters. that is Edge's storyline in the game.

I feel like there was sort of a trend at this time when Japanese VGM composers were heavily influenced by 60s and 70s rock. Actually, so many good musicians always gush about 70s rock, but it goes really well with JRPGs of this time.

the chance of the musical genius of one man. how lucky are we to have gotten the single stroke of fate for a masterpiece that lives through generations, from the Playstation 1 to the Nintendo Switch (Smash Bros Ultimate, lol)

Those sure are a lot of humble words to say: -I'm a god, that's how I composed it-
Nobuo Uematsu is, arguably, the greatest composer of our time. May the heavens let us enjoy his beautiful creations for a long time.

Fantastic piece of music. Very special. Almost as good as Dancing Mad.
Always been a big fan of Uematsu's work. All the way back to Rad Racer. Crazy to think he put this music together like a puzzle. Truly gifted.

I always laugh when I hear someone say that classical music is dead. I hope everyone knows that VG composers like this man are an integral part of human music history. Such an overload of talent brings tears to my eyes.

Decades ahead of his time musically? knows exactly what made the prior generations of music so impactful? The absolute worst grasp of Latin I've ever seen except for my grades in high school? This man is one for the ages.

If you like One Winged Angel, do check out Stravinsky's -Rite of Spring-. It's what got me into -classical- music, it shattered my idea of what that music was like. And I got into it through this video.

I love this mans music. He really knows how to set the vibe for the atmosphere and capture the emotions. In the psx days with ff7 you couldn't show facial expressions. This man is a legend.

He mentioned that he didn't even learn music but plays with it. So it's like I don't read chapter books but I already know how to make a great story. You just have to find inspiration.

I am astonished on how this man makes a genius situation sounds like it's everyday for him.
Thank you, Uematsu-san, for making ours lives incredible with every tune you compose

reply

Genius! Mine is also that favourite part! The Advent Children version is so heavy and dark that it makes me think like an introduction to Satan.
Btw my workout music.

The man made a legendary theme that every gamer who encounter sephiroth in game will know without hesitation, its then he/she knows it's about to be a hell of a boss fight
reply

Long story short: -I-m a badass and I-m probably the GOAT of video game music and I woke up one day and made probably the best video game song of all time-
reply

The fact he wrote it in parts is amazing. A true master. The tune is so utterly devastating. It must be what final bosses in video games hear before they die
reply

Nobuo will go down shelved next to the greats, honestly the best composer of our time and I am only tip top proud to be alive during his time. Seriously
reply

He's just like -yeah I just spliced together some random measures of music and created an iconic boss theme. No biggie-
reply

At the beginning: -Main Composer for FF7-. Imagine underselling the GOAT that much lmao. I think i get why, but still

When I first heard this it was definitely familiar somehow. Now he mentions Stravinsky, bingo! This is a masterpiece.

This man is like the man who created the Kremlin. He created a building unlike any other, and then never did it again.
reply

Even as a westerner I know this man's name. His music was a big part of my childhood. He is an amazing talent.
reply

Friends: He created a nightmare! Such scary song!
