It makes no damn since Fort-nite did not come out this year its not eligible to win G. O. T. Y. and the game is really over rated and it was doing good with the original concept save the world but it followed popular trends when it didn-t need to. And you could say it just released out of beta but that doesn-t work that way it was never released this year. And honestly i thank epic for Gears of War its a damn good series and i know Microsoft will do it well but to see a company like Epic Games make subtle mistakes that will blow up in the end honestly sucks and the fact there not seeing those mistakes makes the situation worse. I hope Epic Games can actually advert from popular trend and be original like they were with the start of the game and make something really cool but now Fort-nite is just a simple copy and past of past battle royale games with -story- which no one cares about expect people like Matt pat which few Fort-nite fans are like that, and dances and cartoon like graphics. And no this is not a hate comment and to be honest i like Fort-nite for the originality that it lost in a tangled time bomb of popularity trends, which means i like the original concept of the game but now its a copy and past of its predecessors. I hope Epic games adverts off popular trends and moves on to the original concept as its main derivative and focus to make that into something really good but for now this for me is the end of Fort-nite.

It's not hard to take something someone else did and round the corners off it to claim it for your own.
Not sure anyone needs to examine that. You made a thing, I took it and added a few things to it to make it a little better without doing the actual _hard_ part.
I kind of feel bad for so many inventors who did something awesome then got cast to the side when some greedy jerk adds one button to it and resells it.
(Disclaimer, I don't play either of these games at all and have zero interest in them. Just a general statement. After all, both these games are just the -deathmatch modes- of games you'd actually have gotten for free as an afterthought had you _bought an actual game_ in the past)

This video didn't aged so well since fortnite isn't even popular no more since no one talks about that game no more and fortnite is at 8th place on twitch.
When I would remember when that game used to be number one on twitch but I can just understand most of the streamers just don't enjoy playing fortnite anymore
And decide to stream other games which can be understandable since new games can come and take you away from that online only game though.
And I know in fact I even have stop playing other online games just like fortnite to play other newer games and play them a lot more than the other online only games

yeah see thats why i dont really like it. not because i hate how much kids love it or whatever, because thats just harmless fun. basically it just abandoned all sense of originality in the development process in favor for as much revenue as possible, fueled by relentless pop culture references and the shrewd use of the innovative concepts from their predecessors and/or competitors. everything about it seems like it was formulated by a corporation, which, i mean, it was. idk man all the power to whoever is enjoying themselves but to me it just feels pandering and manipulative

It was a little confusing why in the first half of the video they talked about influences, but then at the end when talking about the f2p micro transaction model and the battle pass they didn't reference other games that had set the standard for those models, aka League of Legends with micros and DotA 2 for battlepass. Fortnite got successful by not coming up with anything new themselves, but instead taking the best aspects of other games and combining them together. Which is really what art is all about

Gross, they changed a game that they'd been developing for seven years, that sucked, stole another idea, and then put their workforce into burying the game that they stole it from. The only reason is because its a free version of the biggest battle royale, which people didn-t want to pay $30 for, so instead of being a zombie survival, they took all the people who paid for the alpha/beta and said F them and lets make it battle royale

I highly disagree that battle royale plays to the old minecraft fanbase in any way. However you could make an argument that Save the World does a better job of that (sort of a tower defense, third person minecraft)
