I genuinely love Polygon and I think they have a consistently creative and inventive team when it comes to thoughtful gaming journalism.
I know this is a teensy bit harsh, and perhaps uncalled for, but holy moly these end-of-year wrap up vids feel out of place compared to your typical content.
There-s a huge dissonance for me jumping from your deep dive videos (i. e. space banjos, Miles Morales- hair, explosion effects, etc) and then seeing this listicle of half-baked, jokey tag lines.
I say this from a place of pure love and respect for your platform, and I hope my sincerity comes through; I-d be super interested to see a different style for 2022-s GOTY wrap up.
Ugh. I hated writing that and I-m very sorry. You are all talented and amazing and I mean that. Now it-s time to rewatch the Digimon alternate timeline vid.

I don-t know much about resident evil (not a horror game fan) but I did see a car covered in Umbrella Corporation stuff, including flashing emergency vehicle lights, at a rest stop in rural Virginia on my way home from visiting family. The woman inside was cuddling a tiny chihuahua on her lap.

I never thought I'd be the one making this particular type of dumb comment on a GOTY list. but I'm absolutely floored not to see Before Your Eyes on the list! It seems like such a Polygon game.

best game of 2020 and 2021 and till 2010 or whatever was and is Cyberpunk 2077. No cap. besides a few bugs, it is a masterpiece beyond anything that exists. Maybe the best game in history.
