Assassin's Creed Unity's model of Notre Dame did not help rebuild the cathedral after it caught fire in 2019. But a lot of people believe that it did. It's been repeated as fact across forums and videos, especially in the wake of an Assassin appearing in the opening ceremony for the Summer Olympics in Paris. The idea is beautiful, but it's just wrong, and believing that Unity's Notre Dame could have helped restore the cathedral is a discredit to the game's creators and the people working to restore the cathedral. Alright hot take coming: Assassin's Creed Unity is easily my favorite Assassin's Creed game and one of the best games ever in my opinion. For the record I have beaten most of the AC games. The gameplay is a blast and the city feels alive in a way no other city in a game has, not to mention all the interiors you can enter. I absolutely adore this game and it is probably in my top 10 of all time. Oh boy ready for the hate.

for how bad unity was, it only makes sense that the notre dame wasnt going to be 1: 1 with the real world. im not sure why everyone is thinking they managed to perfectly recreate it
