Most people claim to love animals and be against animal abuse, but their everyday actions dont reflect that. If you truly care about animals, then walk your talk and BE VEGAN. if youre not already doing so. And if youre not vegan and thus NOT walking your talk, then start today. We human animals have no need to exploit, steal from, and hurt/murder nonhuman animals in order to thrive. Every nutrient our body needs can be found in whole plant foods.
Also, there are animal-free alternatives to choose for everything else in your life that contributes to/supports animal exploitation, cruelty, theft, and murder of the innocent. If you cant find those alternatives, then create them yourself or, at the very least, put out the demand for them. Be a part of the solution rather than part of the problem.

It's so bizarre that he changed colour like that at such a late time in his life.
Goldfish often start out with very dark colours like this as babies, to help them hide from predators.
They will often start losing their black colour at about 2-3 inches long.
It's rare for them keep any of it, to be honest.
Almost unheard of for a goldfish to keep it for 10 years, lol!
Glad he's happy though!
Goldfish should be in big ponds! They're happier, and the bigger the space, the bigger they can grow!
I've had goldfish that have grown about half the damn size of a koi carp, I swear!
We can't have koi's where I am (there's a risk of idiot people releasing them into the wild and decimating the local fish) so it was just a regular goldfish from the pet store. pretty sure, lol!
I wish I could have a pond again. Nothing beats watching lazy goldfish gliding around a pond.

My first aquarium was three common goldfish in a 190 litres (50 gallons) tank, which while on the limit (perhaps well below it) for them, at least allowed them to swim and they were stunning. You just need the correct amount of space, and they won't make you missing even the most colorful reef-dwellers.

Beautiful and handsome! Animals with black fur or scales is the result of a rare pigment called melanism. But in this case with what we've seen in goldfish, it seems that the reason he's this color is because he doesn't have the nutrients from the food goldfish eat that gives the golden color, which is how they live up to their name.

I had a fan tail in my koy pond. I had a fountain in the center that i took apart to clean everyweek. As soon as i would sit down to start cleaning that fan tail went crazy swiming back and forth over the fountains underwater movement to get a belly rub!

This tank seems to be still to small. I don't understand why people take goldfishes as a thing to decorate their houses and not as animals with feelings and needs. In Germany and switzerland round goldfishglasses are forbidden because of good reasons!

This is the reason I am a strict vegan. It is a deadly sin to torture children or animals. I won't eat anything with a soul. What a cute story how he turned gold again. I didn't realize that happened. So I learned something about gold fish today.

I am so greatful there are such wonderful caring people in the world.
What a gorgeous fish and I hope the owner is very proud of herself for being so kind and rescue him but even more so for helping him become the very best version of himself

I hate seeing fish locked up in tanks, but if they're going to be, at least treat them well. Some people have no clue, but I'm thankful for good, responsible care givers like this gal.

Talk about a glow up! Monstro got health, a home, a family, and friends. He’s living a great life. Idk how long fish live but he’s got some great years ahead of him.
