Retired Racing Greyhound Becomes The Biggest Goofball They have an adoption agency here in Arizona for a greyhounds from the dog tracks here when they retire them, they used to just euthanize them, but people started adopting them in one thing you have to know with a greyhound they’re either running at 100 miles an hour or their couch potato

Good guess your dog would do well at a dog park with the chance to play with other dogs. I am only guessing that to play is much of what he wants. You might also try to play with him yourself as well as you are able. Your dog seems to WANT to play.

We have had our beautiful boy for 3 years now, he is now 6 and is the most loving dog I’ve ever had. Does not bark just wimpers. Most placid dog I have ever had, would not hesitate to recommend the breed to anyone. Thank you for the video.

He is so like our Puma he's gone from being scared of his own shado and people to hay I'm here I handsome where's my loves ect but boy does he fart haha he goes every where with us even the loo and we would not have him any other way

It's funny how they knock things over. They'll carefully edge past something at the front. but they're long and bend in the middle. So while the locomotive is happily through, that double-wide caboose is doing damage.

He is absolutely gorgeous. Those who didnt want him missed out on a truly special Grey. Glad he found a very loving, happy home. Im on number 6 and 7 myself, actually brother and sister. so soecial and such joy.

We had 4 at the same time for many years and also fostered others in that time. They all had distinct personalities but they were all grateful, loving and fun.
I miss our Reiko, Lonnie, Wind and Tay.

These wonderful animals realise that there’s more to life then just running around a track chasing a hare you people do a magnificent job in giving these fantastic dogs a new zest of life full of love
reply

i dunno, you should have atleast a yard for them to run around in, this footage made me sad for the dog in a confined space like that, probably some big city too. terrible way for a greyhound to live

When a grey comes into your life you are truly blessed. They are simply the best. Bless you for giving him a lovely home. We're currently on our 4th rescue grey and just couldn't have another breed.

I know several people that have rescued greyhounds and they are wonderful pets. i always think they are so grateful to the people that take them after the horrible lives they have head. Donna in Toronto

Running dogs are like no other. The best way i could describe them is. the laziest athletes around. Absolutely bone idol. Sleeps 22 hours a day then usain bolt for an hour lol

I guess they share many personality traits with Italian Greyhounds because my Iggy behaves very similar to Blue. He's a beautiful boy and I'm glad he's happy in his new home.

Greyhounds are the best - we are a x2 family. We love them - its amazing to see how they are similar but different. The whine is definitely a thing! Its so cute and sweet.

What a wonderful pup! May I suggest you consider a harness rather than a collar That would give you more control on walks & you would not worry about his neck. Nice!
reply

I feel like I'm watching a video of my own greyhound with how similar they act. Even the little quirks and my own initial reaction to brining her home.

I'm picking up my 6th greyhound next week. I love the breed. Have had them since 1997. My new one is a 4 year old black male, he's very sweet

Retired racing greyhounds are just the most wonderful dogs. Ours certainly lives up to the breeds nickname of the world's fastest couch potatoes.

Great video! Reminds me of my Lady girl! She was so fast and so fun! She would howl with me and we would sing all day long! Thanks for sharing!
reply

I'm so glad people adopt them, it saddens me to know what normally happens to these wonderful animals once racing is done.
reply

Imagine if people put as much effort into raising their kids as you do in your puppy.
Would be a different world.

reply

There used to be greyhound racing in WI I knew people that would adopt them after they were retired from racing
reply

Adorable if you have the patience, I hav 2 Viszla's, same thing but their slug moments don't last long!
reply

They are great but you should do your research before adopting any dog and she clearly admitted she didn't.
reply

Well done for adopting him he's a real character keep up the great work iv got a whippet he's amazing
reply

Greyhounds have evolved to be very pointy; they are thereby able to more easily spear sausages at picnics.
reply

I'm in central Scotland adopted a Irish greyhound he is six he was unsure of everything when I got him
reply

He is the top Dog and you are paying the price. Fine if you enjoy being 2nd. Hell if you don't.
reply

After working all their lives with no love or affection, they DESERVE a life like this.
reply

Thank goodness for people who adopt animals and give them the love they need
reply

The only bad thing about dogs is that they are not with us nearly long enough.
reply

I absolutely watching Blue being welcomed and loved so dearly. Thank you Blue's Mom
reply
