Squirrel Mom Rescues Her Crying Babies Who Fell From Their Nest

I had a litter of puppies that got killed by a raiding opossum who broke into their enclosure. A few of them were eaten entirely (one found outside, vomited up, two were a bloody mess, but the last three were bloody but still barely alive, making death gasps. their mother picked them up and curled up with them, trying to feed them, but they wouldnt budge, until they finally stopped gasping. I had to take them from her, and she lowered her head to guard them but didnt growl at me. it was almost as if she knew it was too late. the possum hadnt harmed her at all, because our other dog (her mate) had fought the possum outside, but I just remember sitting there at 2am holding this tiny, lifeless, bloody puppy in my hands. my kids crying in the house with my wife. having to go outside to scoop up the remains of the regurgitated one into a grocery bag. having to finish off the possum which was playing dead (which I didnt realize until trying to move it) and take it all to the trash can. So seeing those baby squirrels not moving really made me think about scooping up fistfuls of dead puppy in March of 2020, a few weeks after a miscarriage, and thinking the year couldnt possibly get any worse. Hah.
Glad the squirrels made it ok.

When life is over, it ends the same way for all of us. Nobody ever asks how dead are you, You either are or you aren't. It is the same with heroes. You either are or you aren't. You can be a world famous hero who saves a nation, or you can raise one good child. Both are heroes, like the kind lady who assisted the mother squirrel save her defenseless babies. Kudos. A selfless deed borne of compassion is all it takes. Namaste.

Dude, wife & i were walking in shopping plaza near out house and i saw a baby mouse that looked like these guys.
We learned it was hours not days old. No Mama in sight.
The mouse(he) is now 5 days old and we (so far) DID IT! It feels GR8 BTW: ): ): )
We made homeade formula & amazon ordered a tiny tiny nipple so he can latch on.
Feed every 2 hours & qtip his Bum area for poo/pee & heat pad & so far soo good: )

At my home there's a squirrel who use to borrow nest from sparrow for raising it's babies. She gives birth and keep there for 3-5 weeks and then shift them to other place once they become able to walk.
This process she keeps on repeating after every 3 months.
And the best part is. the sparrow couples who own the nest are completely fine with it, like the squirrel pays rent to them.

Me and my gf found 5 baby squirrels abandoned in the shop we work. Those babies gotten a lucky chance, In life, If a nest of squirrel babies fell, there's little chance of survival, even when squirrels have big memory problems. The babies are so lucky, I'm glad there ok.

You should have moved back and observe them from a distance and quit touching them and the nest. The mother might have been afraid of you. Some animals will reject their babies, if human scent is on them.

Should have kept them till grown and made squirrel stew. How many of you know squirrels are the most hunted animal for food in the United States. I think fried rabbit is just a notch above squirrel stew.

The birds screeching in the background and Gave me extreme anxiety until they were all rescued by momma. I hope she has a really safe place to bring them seeing how her nest was on the ground as well.

Love your video. Squirrels were mating in my attic. Opened the door and now the baby is inside my house. Its very tiny. I'll try my best to coach it outside in daylight.
