Woman Rescues A Bunny And Later Gets The Greatest Surprise Well either she has a private life or three Pomeranians bearing gifts will show up this January. Reminds me of when i was a kid. Almost every year Dad would plow the garden or be riding on the mower and discover a clutch of bumnies whose mother was nowhere around. He was a doctor who had a soft heart for animals so we would take them in and feed them until they were on solid food and lhad learned to fend for themselve; We knew of a protected wood just off a golf course where they would be protected because of all the human activity and we released them there. Dad also rescued two ducklings who imprinted on me whan I was about four. They would follow me all over the block as i went out to play. I had to sneak out the front door verrryy quietly and make sure they did not see or hear me if I wanted to go to a friends house. Because most mothers werent too keen about having two ducks quacking outside their door, especially if they had babies taking a napl

Hi,
It’s wonderful of you to rescue the Mama bunny and now her babies! I have been rescuing domestic rabbits for over 24 years. My last 3 stray bunnies were all pregnant. I kept the first family and got all 6 females spayed and the one male neutered.
Your babies still look young. Juveniles, even siblings, usually become aggressive toward each other once the hormones start raging, at 3-4 months old. Females can also get pregnant at this age.
My newest rescued Momma bunny gave birth to 5 babies four weeks ago. They have similar coloring as yours.
I can send you a pdf of the handbook that I use when I teach. I also have a PowerPoint.
The Handbook and class is called: Domestic Rabbits: a Guide for Living With House Bunnies

We moved to the valley when I was about 12 years old and my mom got like a bunch of bunnies and they had babies and there was one call SPOT black and white spots on him and we would bring him into the house and my dog was a puppy and he would hit the ball and the bunny would take his nose and hit the ball back, it was so COOL and there is nothing SOFTER than a bunny's EARS! They are easy to take care of, just vegs and they run around the house all day and you can take them outside to run and play too if you have a backyard, they are just so sweet and gentle!

We certainly need more bunny rescues. Exotics are the overlooked pet, a lot of them lose their homes and it's nearly impossible to find them new ones because nobody wants to cover rescued animals that aren't your traditional dog or cat. I personally could never own a rabbit, my lifestyle isn't suitable for that, but I would love it if more people who could own one or two or four in this case would adopt. They're incredibly intelligent and have huge personalities.

Soon as they said she was nesting a lot. I knew she was pregnant!
I've seen a number of clips such as this, where seemingly wild animals decide to adopt humans, because they are pregnant.
I've seen videos of what appear wild, or animals, who are pregnant, then decide to look for human help

So heartwarming. I adopted two rabbits and initally was frightened of them, but now rabbits are my fav animals. They are cute, do not really smell bad, sniff a lot, like to explore and are overall very fun. I also want to adopt more when I grow up so they will have a safe forever home

Thats how i ended up starting a rescue. I loved my bunnies so much. Then i got illegally evicted and they let my buns out into the neighborhood When i get new housing im going to restart my rescue. Hopefully very soon. Shelter life ain't horrible but life is better with bunnies

Bun Bun is the spitting image of my first bunny and I can relate on the surprise pregnancy bit too with a rescue bun my friend and I brought in a year and a half ago We couldn't keep them all, but my rescue gal's babies have a special place in my heart

We found an English spot & Lionhead mix bun outside my son’s school, took it home & 30 days later we had 6 mini buns! I definitely understand the surprise! Sadly, none of them survived. We still have the mom though and she’s a total sweetheart!

I remember seeing on a couple of vet shows that when a female bunny starts pulling out her belly hair that means she's making a nest for her babies. The hair makes a great cushion for them and keeps them warm.

I used to see them killed in the roads. And you know it's a domestic Bunny because of the coloring. Unfortunately, people give bunnies to other people. And they just let them out and then the coyotes get them

There are thousands of bunnies at rescues around the USA waiting for homes. Most good rescues will already have the buns spayed / neutered and ready for adoption. DO NOT BUY FROM BREEDERS FOR PET STORES!
reply

I think once we domesticate animals, and displace their natural survival abilities with our human pet culture, we become responsible for their health and safety, both physical and mental.
reply

Maple looks JUST like my bunnies! They’re all so cute, I still can’t wrap my brain around who would have done that to poor Bun bun. At least she’s in a happy and safe place now
reply

People need to understand that you can't just drop a domesticated bunny off in a park and expect it to survive in the wild. I'm a bunny owner and it kills me to see things like this
reply

if you cant tell by the color and size that thats not a wild rabbit then you need help also THOSE ARE HARLEQUIN RABBITS they are rare and valubale but not endangered just uncommon
reply

Always make sure to keep an eye on a rabbit thats given birth unfortunately rabbits that are too stressed may end up harming their kits and rescues are prone to stress
reply

She literally walked up to you and changed your life in a big way! Just consider how much influence an animal can have on us, especially if we open up our hearts and homes!
reply

wait you can take bunnies to the beach and they chill with you like a dog that's amazing.
Also great how she handles the bunnies, some poeple put them into cages.

reply

Bunnies are certainly a challenge to take care of! And you now have 4! Congrats for not losing your mind, and for showing them the proper love bunnies deserve!
reply

Thank you rescuing and sheltering the precious rabbit and its cute little bunnies by providing them healthy life cherish them with love care and support
reply

Okay, rabbits are like cats without claws! I also once had a female playmate called me Bun Bun in public places and I said, No, not now, not here!
reply

Wow, what a surprise! I admit if I had taken in a bunny (or any other critter) and she gave birth, I would've been kinda scared.
reply

Bizarre how people still don't understand that a domesticated bunny cannot survive in the wild. It is not a hare.
reply

At the end when they know its food time and I can just see the mom saying i get first dibs i gave birth to all ya'll
reply

Question out of ignorance here. What do you do about bunny poo Litter box or just pick it up wherever it is
reply

This is making me wanna pet bunnies so bad but since i have a pittie I don’t think they’ll get along
reply

Rabbits are cute BUT they are a lot of work. You need to do research on how to take care of them.
reply

I can still taste the bitterant spray you use to keep them from chewing up everything. Bleghhhh!
reply

This was so cute, but the background music only made me think of Trailer Park Boys. lol.
reply

They're really cute and calming to take care of. They taste good too specially the fat ones.
reply

The same thing Happened with my rabbits mom (I hate people who just dump their pets)
reply

Great job guys. You did an awesome job and should be proud of your small colony!
reply

Please tell me you have given Gregg the 'snip' for the sake of the other bunnies.
reply

Wow, Greg did an Olympic binky there! He must be extra happy! I love them!
