Galah Bird Wants To Be Just Like His Human Mom Soulmates look i get the intent of you saying having a pet should be symbiotic.
in a way u are right u give the animal a home, they give love in return.
but the definition of symbiotic is that both the host and the parasite (in this case the pet, are living of of each other instead of for each other, 2 survive.
in most cases of having a pet, its just that, you give a home 2 a animal u provide food and attention, the dog doesnt give anything in return that keeps u alive, which is not the definition of symbiotic.
just saying
still love the story of a diva cockatoo.
its just a word, so it doesnt matter how you describe a relationship, its what it is 2 you that matters.

He's absolutely beautiful! Love his colors! Your a good mommy to him too, I know how needy they can be, I have a blue cheek conore & he's very clingy, hates my cell phone if it rings. he will literally attack it or me because he gets sooooo jealous! However he has his cute, adorable moments, cuddling on my shoulder & taking a nap or going to sleep for the night, he loves to lay on his back, loves me kissing his little feet, he will shove his foot to my mouth to kiss it, lol, He's my little buddy despite all his grouchy moments!

We have huge flocks of these just on the side of the road picking seeds in the grass here in Australia. I regularly feed the white Sulfur Crested Cockatoos - a few by hand every afternoon. Also we have 17 Brush Turkeys in our yard, and the alpha male ( Frank, claws at our window on the bottom floor where I have my office. Every afternoon he comes and claws at the big window telling me he want some bird seed.

I’m walking past a flock of Galahs in the local Park near my place in South Western Sydney. They’re eating the grass seeds on the football field. There’s also lots of Ibises, Plovers, Corellas, Eastern Green Ground Parrots, Rainbow Lorikeets & Sulfur Crested Cockatoos, the latter two visit my back verandah daily for a feed and a drink. Beautiful birds.

She may take time, but she's not used it wisely. That plate full of food was enough for half a dozen birds. They, literally, eat like. BIRDS. That poor cockatoo is horrendously over weight and is destined to liver failure if not corrected. Cute is fine, but this is abuse.

Galahs are really funny birds even in the wild. They perform the craziest antics particularly when they get drunk on Burdekin plums which have fallen form the many trees in Central Queensland and fermented. They are very happy drunks, that will entertain you for hours.

Since she mentions it - this is a good oppurtunity to remind everyone that non-dairy milk is one of the easiest ways to both reduce animal cruelty and the climate crisis, with basically no effort. Give a shot to oat milk! OK I'm going away now, no more preaching I promise

Hahahaha, a galah. We have gazillions of birds here that just show up in our backyard, like lorikeets, rosellas, sulfur crested cockatoos, magpies, butcher birds, noisy miners, peewees, native doves etc. Along with snakes, lizards, possums, bats, frogs and more

Ours is about 5 months old. Still not sure of himself. Yea DNA'd male. Makes some weird noises. when we go to feed him only crap does he make some of the loudest weirdest noises. Sounds like he's beeing tortured.

So, as you probably know, here in Australia the term Galah means, idiot, dickhead etc. That being said, my grandparents had a pet galah for 50 years or more and was a VERY precious family member.

Before I saw several videos from people with their birds. Parrots, Cockatoos or other variety, I had no idea how personable and devoted they can be with a human.

Our regular cockatoo just died recently but our galah is still hanging in there. We were real sad when pearl died. Our galah is much more affectionate though

Be cautious (or have a protective cage handy) taking your bb outdoors with birds of prey about. Just saying, he is precious
