Picky Kitten Refuses To Give Up His Bottle Cat Crazy We had a Birman kitten that wasnt eating much. He essentially wouldnt touch soft food. So I began cutting the pieces up and separating them. He ate those. He didnt want his mouth getting food on it. He also washed his white slippers in his water dish. Beezer was a priss. In the end we went with hard food which he would throw out on the floor to separate the pieces. There was usually more hard food on the floor than in the dish. We got him in 1996. At that time, his pedigree was documented to 1972. He was insanely beautiful. We called him Pepe La Pu because he bounced when he was happy or had a stuffed animal in his mouth. He lived over 20 years. The all have individual personalities.

I just love this video! I foster, and had a litter with an Earl. His name was Fuzby. Then I caught him eating a Temptations treat he found on the floor. After that i Crushed a treat on the wet food and he ate it all, shaking the whole time. Now when I have a hold-out for wet food, I crush a treat on top of it, and so far it works every time.
Whever I need a smile, I put the Earl vid on. Thanks for sharing.

When she said And then there's Earl, I laughed. Both of my rescue kitties Victoria and May Hem, are rhe exact same way. The yll get on my last nerve and the come snuggle up with me when I'm having one of my severe migrains, and I know all the mischief they get into is nothing compared to how much better they can make me feel when it's one of those shytty days.

My parents have sibling cats, a brother and sister. Their litter had 3 girls, one male. Same thing. The boy kept nursing more than a week after the girls switched to eating wet food. He would call his mom who didnt mind nursing. I would tell him (as if he can understand me) You're old enough to be eating wet food like your sisters. Give your mom a break.

I had the same situation with my cat Mileena. She only wanted the bottle. I started putting wet food on the tip of the bottle and she would eat it. I repeated this about 20 times until she finally realized how much she liked wet food. Now she turns into a hungry hungry hippo when I pull a can out.

I had a hard time getting all 3 of my kids off their baba's lol They never took to a paci or a thumb but loved their baba. Trust me, they all eventually get off of it. No rush, only a baby once

I love her conversations with Earl, it's so spot on with what that little sweetie pie is doing & mewing about. She should do more, very clever. I hope she kept Earl, those two were meant to be.

This is my Oreo tuxedo he would eat allll his food then snap, then go steel our other cats dinner so I renamed Oreo to my chubby burrito Earl is sooooo cute

Based on his behavior, he associates the bottle with being nurtured. Since his biological mother isn't present, you and the bottle are what he needs.

Ma6be the bottle is his security. I have a 1 year old cat that still nurses her mother and her mother has been spayed. It's normal behavior.

I have a cat that reminds me a lot of this. He’s a big foodie and a big baby. He would have done this if I bottle fed him.
reply

I did, no you didn’t eat your food, yes I did! Yep, just like a toddler! You are a special person! Bless you, sweetie!

Leave the formula in the bowl and DO NOT FEED HIM WITH BOTTLE. He will figure it out and accept it or go hungry.

It took my Milky boy forever to give up the bottle. He was huge drinking from the bottle and it was adorable

Something about this tiny kitten having the name of a middle-aged human man makes this so much better to me

My aunt once said that in every litter of kittens there's at least one who will be difficult to wean

OK I found this video after two years. I seriously need to know where Earl is and how he is doing.
reply

I was lucky enough before his human parents gave up on him and I can assure you that he was delicious!
reply

He really went over to the bowl and did fake eating. He's way too smart, and he's only just a kitten.

If ever was there a Diva/ baby who didn't want to grow up, it's this lil guy.
Spoiled personified.
