German Shepherd Understands Every Single Word His Dad Tells Him Super, super, super! And I am not exaggerating. Love him forever. You said: It all comes with love, and I can underline and stress that. I have had a Hovawart for 13. 5 years, and he had me. ;-) I still call him my brother, the closest bond I ever imagined. A peace of heaven. Now I know that love is more powerful than even death. This bond will never fall apart or wear out, even though after 4 years I invited another dog to come into my life; a much smaller one but a dog who has been suffering as a hungry stray in the streets of Crete, Greece. I adopted him to honor the life, trust and love of my former dog. I also became vegan because of my brother dog. Yes, it all comes with love - and not only for dogs but for humans, too. He does understand but too many words together is gibberish to him. Dogs don't communicate without action. - eg. We're gonna go and you get up off the sofa. - Stop barking! and you stop talking. He'll just settle down. - He's cocking his head because you're saying a thing, and not doing it.
Theres a study that claims dogs hear your words in slow-mo. If theres too many words strung together it would sound like one, long, extended slow-mo.

I heard from a friend, that old dogs can understand up to 700 human words. I can only agree, grown up with a wonderful Irish Setter. This dog finally tried to speak - not by barking only anymore: She tried to articulate words - and understood nearly all the daily situations and words close to 100 %. and more than 100%, when it was about unconscious athmospheres or moods. A rich, honest childhood I had.

God love you, Mike! First of all your mom did a wonderful job raising a thoughtful, caring man, hope she’s doing well. The bond you and Buddy have is pure LOVE! He’s beautiful inside and out just like his daddy! We need more people like you in the world, thank you for sharing this touching video.
reply

He is family. True. We all they that.
But I love it more when people say he is one of my sons. Not like my son. But my son.
What else does a sweet boy need. A loving daddy!
Yo go Buddy.
Your daddy is the best.
(I had to appreciate the human, such a lovely kind soul)

We all know how smart these GSD are. I have one home. But what made me live these comments here is the fact that you use no leash out for the walk. I have seen people dragging dogs on leash in top of mountains, miles from anyone else.

Hope not happen but when your perfect furry son left you going up there
I need advice about how to deal with it

My dog died 2. 5 years ago, (she was a German Shepherd/Shar-Pei mix, seeing the connection that this guy has with Buddy brings back memories but I still can't see myself getting another dog.

Dogs don’t understand words.
Just sounds.
Why else would they know the same words in different languages.
It’s just sounds they respond to. Hence, consistency.

reply

This is exactly like my labrador. She is 13 now, but ever since she was little, i used words being mindful of consistency. I also taught her to not cross roads chasing anything.

Man: Dude, ICE CREAM!
Dog: Woof! Woof!
Man: Whoa! My dog can read my mind and driving guided by GPS! Hey Ma! he also said he can cure your cancer by -purring- barking.

My sister's dog does that, but he's next level. He's Gen Z, he's moody, and has panic attacks. He doesn't like to go anywhere new and he is really clumsy.

I love my dog reaction to me talking with the head turning is the same, had him from 7 weeks old he’s a special dog too! Your video was amazing

Brilliant video. What a wonderful owner and an incredible dog. If only other people would at least train their dogs to basic standard.
reply

just two beautiful souls that were meant for each other. In today's world. its good to see something so heartwarming and positive
reply

if you say that dog didnt get intensive training for that to happen then, that would be impressive
reply

My dog is similar in his understanding of me, doesn't care what anybody else has to say though
reply

Body emits smell according to situations/ emotions- dog puts two & 2 to gather ( past data
reply

He’s literally the man’s son and his mother is literally the dog’s grandmother
reply

Sweet! German shepherds are extremely intelligent. More than any other dog breed.
reply

If every dog was like that then no one would be lonely and less dogs in shelters
reply

He does know what you are saying because the moment you mentioned DQ he licked his lips.
reply

I like the way he tilts his head from side to side when his owner is talking to him.
reply

If you communicate with your dog every day, you will build a language together.
reply
