Woman Finds A Baby House Finch Bird On Her Porch Little But Fierce Thats actually a female house Finch. Males have a red crest on their head, and red plumage on their chests. I have a flock of ten house finches that have decided to make my garage their home. Garage is always cracked at the bottom so can come and go as they please. When I have to pull my car out of the garage, I have trained them to fly to the corner in the back where my water heater is so they dont get crushed or run headfirst into the garage door. As soon as I open the garage to pull out, theres 6-7 finches that will fly out of the garage, and the remaining ones stay in the garage. When I come home in the middle of the afternoon, I lightly honk my horn and that tells the finches to go to the corner. When I open the garage, theres always a few waiting to fly back in the garage since theyre too lazy to walk under the garage door. Even if theyre out of the garage all day, around 430-500 at night, they will all fly back into the garage to go to bed. Currently, there is 8 sleeping in the garage right now. There is a couple males and a female that will fly to my hand if theres a black sunflower seed it my palm, or, in the instance of the female, she will land either on my shoulder or head and sit there, I do believe she enjoys my company. Only thing about house finches is that they are farsighted and they are not good flyers.

Oh thank you for making this video. I am in this situation now. We had strong storm here in San Antonio, Texas and we had 3 fresh House Finch bird babies in the nest on our back porch. After storm their parents never returned. We were waiting for 10 hours if we will see them. The temperature also dropped and I started to be worried. I took them and they were cold. I had hard time to feed them because they were so weak. But then they started eat after 30 min. After 3 days two of them suddenly died. I was very confused because they were strongest ones and they were doing really good. The 3th one was the smallest one and weakest. It’s doing very good and growing. I read so many articles and it’s sometimes so confusing. If I can ask what were you feeding him with I ground outs to powder, I boil egg and ground it with warm water. Then I keep the mixture of eggs and water in refrigerator. So each time I am ready to feed the baby birds I warm up the egg with water very slightly not much and add the
Oatmeal power. I create soft consistency of formula. They were loving this. But I would like any advice. I recently bought a formula for baby bird but I am now worried to switch it the her diet.

Hello!
I have an egg, we found it on the sand and it had fallen out of its nest, it has no cracks or any sign of harm in it. It is a cargo green egg with big brown spots, a native bird from Australia. If you guys have any tips on taking care of an egg, please tell! We found it at a camping site and it is now getting warmer under my bedsheets back at my house. We may get an incubator but in the mean time, do you have any suggestions on keeping it warm Also, we shone a torch light underneath it to see if it was moving but I can't really tell, it's just a small red dot kinda thing. Please leave tips/suggestions, thank you!

I accidentally spooked two young house finches from their nest while trimming my orange tree. I was able to put them back in but they were still too frightened and jumped back out. Judging by the timeline in this video, I believe they are two weeks old. There are 4 adult house finches trying to get them to fly off the ground. The young finches jump and flap their wings but are not successful. I hope they can make it.

I have a problem with House Sparrows taking newly hatched House Finches out of the nest and dropping them on the ground. Today another two babies were taken out of the nest, one was still alive, not sure if the drop may have damaged the poor little thing, looks like hatched today. What is your recipe for feeding this little one

I found a newborn baby bird in my yard a few nights ago. I thought it was dead but I picked it up and it just barely kicked its little leg. It was freezing so I brought it in and warmed it up and I've had it for about 5 days now and it's growing and I hope for the same outcome

I just found a baby bird yesterday on the hot pavement, it was literally crawling it’s way too me, I couldn’t find a nest so I took it home, got it some meal worms and it’s cryin to eat like every moment lol, gonna let it go when it can show signs of flight

I also have a same finch i found it fallen from somewhere. I brought it to home, it won't have feather even. It's almost 5 months now, i allowed the bird to roam freely. We even don't have a cage. Best part is that it won't leave me even sometime.

It's an amazing feeling being able to help such a small bird. or any animal for that matter. you did a great job raising that little feather baby. congratulations. you get so much happiness and enjoyment also.

I've just done the same with a fledgling Blue tit in England that clearly wasn't ready to fledge. Very rewarding but extremely upsetting when he/she finally flew away. But proud of what I had achieved.

Cuteness overload! You are so kind and blessed and honored to be a surrogate Finch mom. I hope the little guy comes back often. Thanks so much for recording the raising of the Finch.

Those are my favorite species of birds. Along with house sparrows, canaries, and goldfinches. They're all my favorite species of birds and I love them all a lot equally.

Currently raising 9 baby starlings to release our elderly neighbors had a tree cut down and 2 nests were inside so I saved them. Too many wild cats to move the nest.

Do nestlings sleep at night or do you have to feed them through the night every 15 min For how many days
reply

First off you make a nest out of outside material or inside material and never feed a baby upside down.
