Tiny Pale Fish Completely Changes Color

This woman saved a tiny pale betta fish at the pet store, and now he's a completely different color. She loves to educate people on proper fish care, and her love has transformed so many bettas. Every time I see the Betta fish in a plastic cup, it breaks my heart. I have had two of them and they are lovely fish. You can put other fish in the tank with them, they just can't have fancy tails and not sure about this, but no males. Why doesn't PETA stop this from happening They can put them in better environments until they are purchased. If you have lots of grass, you could probably put a few in together, as long as they have their own territory. They have been living in the wild for centuries and are still here. The little plastic cups are cruel.

Those are amazing fish I don't know much about them. Only that from what I've heard you can't put two of them together.
In the small town I live in there's a little pet store that sells fish and the store is clean the people are knowledgeable but the betas are kept in a little cup and I've always wondered why they can't have like a bigger tank of their own
Thank you for saving these little fish and I do love Stevie's little mustache

Don’t get your child a pet that requires a perfectly calibrated biome that needs constant care, unless you’re going to be the one doing all the work. Most adults couldn’t take care of an aquarium as they don’t understand it’s not just a fish, it’s a micro-environment you have to set up. Just get your children a less delicate pet they can easily interact with, aquarium is more of a teenager’s commitment tbh.

Fish are not easy to take care of, and I actually work at a Pet store and we get a lot of parents coming in trying to get tanks for their young children. I try to do my part to educate parents on the responsibilities of having a fish tank. It is not easy enough for a child, I have a lot of adults that have a hard time keeping a healthy tank! This young lady is a Angel

Betta are amazing, they are so beautiful. And then once they are healthy and happy they are just stunning. My brother does a betta rescue program at his school that is very similar to this. The kids can't believe what a difference it makes and it really helps them learn why things need love and care. Thank you for saving them.

I’ve never seen a betta behave in such a friendly way! How wonderful!
But, please it’s pronounced BET-ta, not BAY-ta. I don’t know when the bayta pronunciation started, but when my Mom was buying bettas over 55 years ago, everyone pronounced them betta, not bayta.

Petstores shouldn't be allowed to keep bettas in cups they need a heated and filtered tank. The Petstore near me has their cup display near the entrance so in the cold months they are constantly getting blasted with cold air and they are all clamped up. It is heartbreaking.

I quit my job at petsmart because I HATED the way we werent properly trained and how awfully we were told to care for these fish. I really tried but I was 18 and everyone I worked with sucked when I asked questions and did research or even carried around a manual. Awful

There should be law to forbid all pet stores all over to world to sell animals, fish anything living. It’s just not right. Pet stores workers are not professional animal handlers. They just don’t care. For them these creatures are objects to be sold.

Displaying fish in pet stores in tiny cups is animal torture. It should be illegal. Please don't buy animals at pet stores. When you buy through stores, you help drive a long chain of misery and pain. It's so easy to opt out. Please, ADOPT and RESCUE.

Poor bettas. They can survive in a small bowl, but will be miserable, and have a short life. I have a friend who kept hers in a proper tank like this one. That little guy lived a very long life, and was happy well into his senior years

Almost all pet stores don't take care of their animals. The ones that are sick or not perfect, they just leave them in the back. Fishes are so kind and friendly. We should treat them well. They are intelligent and they have souls.

We bought a cup beta, and my mom took awful care of him, so I got my old fish tank, old filter, heater, blood worms, and some plants. The dude went from an almost whitish brown to bright red.

my beta Ophiucius (named after the 13th zodiac sign) he would come up for pets when i came to feed him, and always made himself look good before coming out of his house- miss the little dude.

Thank you for rescuing Stevie from a certain demise. It sickens me how all these pet stores ignore the wellbeing of these bettas. It's so wrong. Stevie is looking happy and healthy!

It must be so nice seeing them change like flowers blossoming. Just shows loving care even works with tiny fish. I don't think I want to be a pescatarian anymore.

Keeping fish in a bottle is so cruel. I have a natural, planted aquarium at home. The size is also quite adequate and the fish are always playing and quite healthy.

The are only some human beings who actually care for these beautiful creations of God, while many enjoy them to be served in the plates as happy meals.

She has some real skill! The water looks perfect and the fish are thriving. Nice job. Love the idea of giving the fish different environments.
