Dying Betta Fish Smiles at his Rescuer Little But Fierce They cannot handle current at all so it’s not that he’s lazy. His fins is like having a sale in the wind it prevents him from moving so you have to have a tank with very little to know current. You also need a lot more plants in there to help block the current, there are some great videos on how to care for these fish go to father fish he will teach you everything you need to know he is by far the number one fish guru out there. I trust no one else with my fish that old gentleman he’s brilliant he loves fish. He loves people. He loves the hobby, and he has devoted dedicated and will do everything in his power to help people, but you have to have the mud bottom the sand top, you have to have the proper elements in the dirt bottom and your tank will flourish forever I have yet to clean my tank. I’ve changed the water but I’ve yet to clean my tank and my tank now is one year old. Never vacuumed it once I have the micro for that we put the leaves in there the drive leaves from outside we chopped them up and put them in there. We have the snails From the local lake they are just helping out. It’s amazing it’s a natural ecosystem and we don’t feed our fish every day. We feed our fish every four or five days except for the beta he eats every day and if there’s babies in the tank they go in a small baby container and they eat if they’re really small fry they eat four times a day, but just the smallest amount of baby food official teacher had to do it

Just remember, new fish keepers, a hungry fish is a happy fish. They need to have hope of finding food in their surroundings, so they always are on the lookout for food. If you feed them until they lose interest in food, you will kill them with toxic breakdown of all the food and they won't be happy either.
Also, if you have made a mistake, clean water: careful slow water changes with the right temperature to keep it clean.
Bonus tips:
Buy a nitrate kit to be sure the biological cycle is working.
Regularly feed them live food that's safe not from a suspect source. (Daphnia are very easy to grow if you get sunlight and have a garden and two tubs of water. Put leaves in both, wait for it to green, and put daphnia from the fish store in it. When they get too many and/or the water clears, harvest some with some of the water and replace it with green water from tub 2, taking care not to put instruments from tub #1 into tub #2 or you may soon have 2 full tubs of daphnia and nothing to feed them. If you don't want mosquito larvae (tho these are also nice to feed to your fish, but you have to catch all of them every 2nd day to avoid getting mosquitoes) cover the tubs with a mosquito net.

I just rescued a mermaid betta fish from Petco He is very sick due to poor water quality and he is not really feeling good That cup that he was in was full of nasty water because he was in there so long and the sickening part of this is they don’t take good care of it! I named him Denzel, started taking care of him by changing his water every once a week, and now he is back at health. He is more active than usual and he is happy. I am so proud of this woman for taking good care of her fish because fish deserve love too.

My sister bought a beta once and she always said she was an animal lover. People who sell these fish like this and people who keep them in small containers need to be ashamed at what a pos they really are. Turns out my sister having this beta showed her true colors. She didnt fix her animals and when she moved she couldnt find her cat and left it behind. I lived across country and I would never leave an animal behind. Never.

I see them at the pet store in those small cups and they look miserable. When you go to the pet store they tell you they need a big tank and all types of supplies for them to live and they are not following their advice. I already witnessed one dead in a cup. I left very sad and angry. I am so happy that your cute fish is living life love by you in a big aquarium.

Literally every scientific justification and studied research team in every way shape and manner possible: Fish literally don't have feelings/emotions like humans.
And they don't.
Dumb Humans: It moves and just on that basis I'm going to apply my visual and self-centered human perception upon it whether you like it or not waaaaaaaahhh!

This woman is a goddess. Thank you for saving this little fish who was basically left for dead. Fish are very delucate and need the appropriate space and filtration to thrive.
Thank you again for this angel of a human. Compassion and knowledge help save lives.

Where is this that allows a pet animal to be abused like this In where I live the shop owner would be arrested and jailed for keeping a Betta in a cup like this. Wherever this is, needs a better animal cruelty laws. It’s a felony here to treat animal like this.

Bettas are the best fish to have they have some really cool color choices and the fins on them are cool too. I have a half moon betta and he's awesome I definitely recommend a betta if you want a fish with some cool colors

I also had a Mr. Betta for a few years. he greeted me happily every time I came home from work. When I lost him to old age, I was completely devastated. Did not know I could form such a strong attachment to a lil' fish.
reply

Happy to watch people who truly care about their fish friends. Fish show their gratefulness to people who love them.
Keeping bettas like most pet stores do should be forbidden as cruelty.

reply

Don’t put your fish in bowls. It skews their vision. You can see when she puts the camera close to the bowl and it does that fish eye lense affect. That’s what they see.

What a wonderful thing you did from dying to becoming an absolutely beautiful healthy happy fish. I can't stand seeing beta fish in little tiny cups its just sad

Fish are a lot smarter than we think. I have had many fish with complex personalities. You saved that fish's life. That means a lot. Thank you!

You are an angel. All God's creatures deserve to live, and those we humans take out of their environment for profit really need our help.

I honestly thought that was a different fish, it's amazing how colorful and beautiful he actually was if he had been taken care of

I love bettas. I can only keep them alive for 2 years though. I love how they get more vibrant as they age in good quality water.
