This is how it should be when your pets become seniors - they have loved you for their entire lives and remained loyal - it is our duty as pet guardians to love them for their whole lives and be loyal to them, as well. I just don't understand people that can dump their senior pet at a shelter in lieu of getting a puppy, it's an awful and soulless action. This video is a perfect example of being the best dog pet guardian to a senior pet. Back in 2015, I adopted a senior Pit Bull during adopt a senior month at a local shelter, he was 8yrs old and I was honored enough to have him until he was 12 years old - he was a sweet soul and I will always be open to seniors in shelters. Senior pets are just as full of love and have plenty of companionship to give. Yes, she has had him since he was a puppy, but this also points to that fact senior animals have a lot of life and love they want to share with a human companion. This girl is a gold standard all pet guardians should aspire to as their pet(s) age and one day cross the Rainbow Bridge.

Pepper was my soul dog. I got him when I was 13 and lost him when I was 26. Middle school, high school, the army, and moving back home. When he got old and his teeth were loose I would get beef meximelts from Taco Bell which were ridiculously soft and we'd sit up watching MASH and I'd hand feed him little bits of it. Then he'd get an all over massage for his arthritis and I'd drink bellini's and we'd cuddle up and go to sleep.
Those were some of the best days ever. Senior dogs are the absolute best and I cannot wait to adopt another one (except I completely can because I have a senior kitty and I'm making sure she's living her best life now.

I’ve had the privilege of taking care 2 of my senior dogs to the rainbow bridge. I am now taking care of their 2 puppies which are now seniors as well. I am always emotional, scared and happy at the same time. Life is just better because of them.

This put tears in my eyes. I just lost my doggy friend a month ago. He was 17 years old, but I gave him the best life that I could and that’s what counts. They living beings too and they need love and care too. Thank you for sharing.

It's very loving and caring, but also selfish. Raffi clearly loves her and the other dog, but you get to a point of is this the owner's desire to keep the dog vs the comfort and what strain is this for the elderly dog.

This was an emotional one. such a blessing to have your best friend with you all these years! I hope you enjoy many more days! So smart to build memories to cherish.

That's like my tortoise, I've had her since she was 15, however I think she's going to live long enough to see my grandchildren's birth

I love this. I have a senior dog, and it's not easy to care for her. However, it is my duty to love and care for her until the very end.

Raffi has been a rock throughout this lady's life and deserves a bit of pampering. Hope he has a long and happy retirement!
