This Hawk Looks Right At His Rescuer As He Frees Him I rescued a pelican in the Florida keys (broken wing)and the people who owned the campground called the bird sanctuary and they took the bird. I asked where they were located and when can I visit the bird. They informed me that would kill it. If I would have known that I would have kept the bird and tried my best to nurse it back to health. This was in 2011 and I am still mad at myself to this day.

Wonderful! It took about 2 nanoseconds for the hawk to understand that the man was helping him and he immediately stopped struggling and watched patiently while he untangled the line! Thank you for helping the poor animal!
Please, all fishermen - take your unwanted fishing line home! Don't litter the home of wild creatures and trap them like this!

Nice saving of the bird, but, am I in a different dimension or something Why is everyone, the video, comments, referring to this OSPREY as hawk Yeah, ospreys have a folk name fish hawk, but this here seems a strange collective ignoring that this is an osprey, more eagle than hawk.

I had the same happen to a hawk in the woods on my property. I cut the string off its legs. That hawk (I assume it's the same) will land just a couple feet from me when I am outside working. It just hangs for several minutes then leaves. Incredible animals.

Gotta think, it has probably been stuck like that for hours, possibly days. It was probably exhausted from struggling. Probably reason why it was so calm, just did not have the energy to retaliate. Good on the man for helping it

That was incredibly awesome. Man being an animal's keeper. That was special. I wonder if the hawk will remember that man and find him. That's an answer we will never know

Dumb fishing people, look what you caused! Take your disgusting line with you when you leave, or just don't fish if you don't know how to clean up after yourself

animals instinctively know when thy/you are helping them:
, get free, come out of pain. instant love is the beholden=for/bcs you/thy earned their trust.

Poor thing was so tangled in that wire/string. This is what happens when we litter!
I'm glad he laid there patiently as the man helped him.

If you’re ever walking around rivers and lakes and see fishing line in a tree, try and take it with you. You might just prevent this
reply

It’s an Osprey. Check out Mark Smith photography for how beautiful these birds are when our pollution is not killing them

That bird was so desperate for help it didn’t even attack that’s how dire this was. Beautiful bird and beautiful person
reply

Wish people would take fishing line home this could have been easily avoided. Well done fella we need more people like you
reply

Why didn't the bird stay and thank the man with a cup of tea. Rude to just fly away only to be tangled again
reply

How did the hawk know the man was not a threat, he just patiently waited until he was done. Amazing rescue!
reply

Wow animal lovers that can't identify an osprey. One of the easiest birds of prey to identify. Lmao
reply

It pretty cool that the hawk knows he is being helped, not even trying to grab with its talons
reply

The fact the bird was able to fly away is a sign of their resilience. Thank you good human.

That was beautiful. Thank you for sharing this.
Thank you with appreciation,

Hats off to the rescuer! Wait what language was he using and what was he saying

Poor little thing had given up the ghost. I hate what people have done to the waterways.

This is really gonna pay off when those goblins got him and Bilbo stuck up in a tree.

Humans have ruined the world. That shouldnt have happened in the first place.
