This gives me hope for my dog. He has an injured disk and is paralyzed from the waist down. He is on strict bed/crate rest (doctor’s orders. We have received lots of uplifting stories about how other dogs who went through similar situations ended up walking again. It had only been 2 weeks and we still have another 2-4 weeks to go, but my family and I are hoping and praying he will be able to walk again. We are covering our bases though just in case the worst case scenario happens. We purchased these shorts that he can wear so he will be able to pull himself along the floor using his front legs (the shorts will protect the skin on the lower half of his body) and a wheelchair. But all that aside, we remain hopeful he will be back to his goofy, playful self again.

Speaking from experience, if you haven't already looked into this, please seek out VSMT (veterinary chiropractic) and therapeutic massage.
Uneducated conventional vets often give the gravest prognosis, including the treatment of euthanasia.
Watch some Animal Cracker Doug Willen's YT videos.
Please seek out a reputable soft tissue therapist.
That accident (however minor it seemed at the time it happened) affects joints, fascia, ligaments, tendons, nerves as well as musculature.
All these tissues need to heal, especially if he had subluxations in the spinal facet joints. It's like a train wreck.
This I know from professional and personal experience.

I had a male golden retriever, Casper with the same condition as Cooper but with all four legs suddenly paralized. Did the same therapy, took him for walks with support for months till one day he can stand on all 4 legs again while i was putting on his support, then start to learn how to walk again on the weeks after. This video give me a reminder of the feeling when he can stand up again.

I went through the same thing with my Borador two years ago. Never found out what caused it. Within a month, with the help of prednisone and home therapy, she was walking again, albeit a bit gingerly. She still has some numbness ) in her hindquarters which is obvious at times, but she gets around well. I just keep hoping that it does not happen again.

That is the true spirit of the warrior named Copper and his mom who took extreme care (sorry) it is called devotion with her beauteous heart and followed her instincts and saved the Cooper. Now She is happy and very proud of him by standing on his side. Upon seeing this vid, You two just made me have Happy-Tears at the end.

Thank you for loving your dog unconditionally! I’m a navy OIF veteran, thanks to my service dog Master Chief I am alive today, she rescued me from the strong hold of PTSD and thought me what unconditional love is. This is why you shouldn't always listen to the vets or doctors. When the vet said otherwise, her spirit told her that her dog could walk again. Many would've put their dog down after being told it wouldn't walk again. I'm glad she didn't listen. Yay Cooper!

I hope you brought that dog back into that same vet who said that he would never walk again I hope you walked him proudly into that vet that vet needs to be taught a lesson not in a violent way but not to give information that you don't 100% know

This happened to my dog too, at age 13. We did improvised physio all the time and she recovered. However, she was a very sensitive dog and may have suffered a stroke because of the stress; she wasn't the same afterwards and died 5 months later.

Lady, you are a mover and a shaker. you got that dog walking again. He had the will and determination and so did you. Obviously, it was a shock to this nerves to the legs and it needed exercise to get things going again You go girl.

What a remarkable and amazing recovery.
Cooper really did an excellent job and his mom was instrumental in getting him that way. That is one amazing mom and her dog. A great amazing story

I don't cry, and I hate when women cry, and I am a woman! But, I watch these babies, God's most precious creatures, (screw us were jerks) and I start crying! Why did Cooper make me cry
