The time has come. Daniel, Wyoming has yet to give justice for Thea the wolf cub who had been brutally tortured by the monster known as Cody Roberts. Who was only given a slap on the wrist for his inhuman crimes. This cannot go on any longer. And since the law is allowing animal abusers to get away with their horrific acts, it is time that animal lovers take matters into our own hands. Turn your backs on Wyoming until they ensure that animal abusers are given proper punishments for their crimes. Demand to government officials that better animal protection laws be placed. Remember Thea and that her life mattered. We mustn’t allow anymore abusers get away with their horrific acts. Make a stand! Take action! Be a Wildlife Warrior!

Can I just say that the support is overwhelming and Salem, the flock, John, the kids, Penny, and I are so overwhelmed with gratitude. I JUST THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ALL THE LOVE FOR SALEM. Parrots are so special and lives are never to be taken for granted. They're the #1 rehomed pet in the country for a reason. I just want to make sure my guys have their last home with me a happy thriving one forever. There's a reason I took in 7 rescue/rehome birds. because they never had to be rescued or rehomed again.

I am a childless person, and this is one of the animals I couldn't adopt. I believe long lived animals like parrots should be adopted by people with children only. They live too long, some large parrots may live 80yrs or more in captivity. And things happen to us people. A parrot should go to a family, so they pass down to the next generation, and the next owner is a familiar person to them.

having an animal is such a pure but heartbreaking relationship. they either leave you first or you leave them first/earlier than planned. animals take the loss of house mates and family members so hard, but i'm glad there are always folks willing to work with them and help them find joy in life again after loss

Awe. What a beautiful story! Thank you & your husband for being patient & allowing Salem to grieve. And giving him support to open up & love/trust again! All animals (including us) have feelings & we all grieve & need support to get through it in a healthy manner. Blessings to Salem & his family!

I had to give up our blue and gold and our cockatoo when my husband was diagnosed with cancer and needed hospice care. It was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. I think about them often and hope they are okay. Sometimes I want to try to find out, but at the same time I’m afraid.

so are they saying, and people like this, that these birds want people and not their own species I think these people are delusional that these animals looking for them I want a human I want a human I do understand some animals that can't go back into the wild

We all grieve the loss of a pet. But some animals, like parrots, often outlive their human. And that loss can be even more traumatic, as that human is usually their WHOLE world. It's great to see you step up and welcome Salem into your home and family!

Thank God for people who rescue these birds, but, no more parrots should ever be taken our of the wild for the pet trade. Seeing them in their proper flock is an honor to witness. They deserve to stay with their large, natural families.

I'm so glad they took him in, Salem grieving over the loss of his dad and you helped him through it. Grief never goes away, and it's good that changing his diet is helping him a great deal, and feathers growing back is wonderful.

You know, animals really truly love and it is a very hard thing to lose an animal and for an animal to lose its owner. It’s so heartbreaking. I just lost my 10-year-old dog whom I’ve had since a puppy I am still grieving.

So happy for this little guy that he was brought into a second home with so much love and care. It's a good reminder that all of us animal lovers must make plans for the unexpected and have a soft place for our furry fam to land.

A bird picks out its feathers due to stress, if it's been doing it for 20 years, why didn't they do something Poor bird! It needed a mate, no amount of human interaction can replace a feathered friend. Glad it's doing better.

Our only regret in dying is leaving our sweet cockatoo without his loving family but luckily for Quincy, he will have a new home and hopefully he will bond with his new family and live out his days happy and healthy.

Lucky Salem, to have found a new, caring family. It does, though, highlight the necessity of making provisions, when you get older, for the care of your animals, if they outlive you. Most animals aren't so lucky.

So sad that this lovely creature lost his previous human parents. Thank Heaven for the caring family who put forth the time & love the parrot needed. Happy Birdie, happy human!

Poor baby. Had a HUMAN lifetime with his people I am sure.
Thank you for showing him love and compassion.
Thank you for being patient.
Parrots are a tough nut to crack

reply

Poor thing. Parrots live long lives so are quite likely to lose a human companion oat some point. I hope he does get to spend the rest of his life with his caring humans.

Parrots as pets needs to end. (I get why people do it) I also understand that for some it's the hope for the species. It's such a an uncomfortable fate.
